Great week at Bear Lodge, batteries recharged

  • 5 of 5

You never know exactly what you will get when you book a rental entirely on line and so I was a bit skeptical. I am happy to say Bear Lodge exceeded all of our expectations! The house was fabulous. It seemed like everything we needed was at our fingertips. Great location, great facilities, excellent Wifi ( which the kids particularly appreciated ). There were five of us, 3 kids and two adults and we all had plenty of space to relax and find peace and quiet after a fun day out and about. The cabin is close enough to the lake that you can walk down and back without issue, yet far enough that you can still find some tranquility if needed. The beach was great, Kids made new friends, and loved swimming out to the floating platform. So much to do all around you and yet we were tempted to spend our entire time in the cabin, on the porch just enjoying the weather. We are an active family and constantly on the go with kids activities or work. This was the perfect vacation for us. Thank you so much Pam and Craig for your hospitality. Hope to see you again sometime.

My family and I had such a great Vacation.

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great time.

Short walk to the beach , Washer and Dryer was so nice to have .No laundry to do when we got home except the sheets.

We had a fire every night and the kids loved making s'mores . The loft was great for the kids which also had its own bathroom.

And we were able to grill when we wanted to . We also rented a Pontoon boat so we were able to enjoy the lake and sandbar .Everything close to shopping, restaurants, Biking, swimming, boating

We will definitely rent it again.

Pam and Craig were so easy to rent from.

We cant wait for next year !!!

Thanks again Pam and Craig for sharing your wonderful log cabin.

great cabin in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

the home was much better than we had expected! fully equipped to enjoy right away. the loft was like a mini apartment for our daughter. the grill was available to cook outside every day. great fire pit surrounded by chairs for s'mores. short walk to the lake to sun, float, and read.

the front screened in porch kept us comfy, dry, and bug free. Tanger outlets nearby for rainy days and lunch at the Tilt'n diner! we had a great time and would definitely return. certainly a home away from home.

Thanks, The Dions

Great week...too short!!

  • 5 of 5

Great week. Everything we could have hoped for. The cottage was cozy with plenty of space. The screened porch provided many relaxing hours without threat of insects. We read, relaxed, played games, and ate on it.

The lake is just beautiful. We kayaked and even saw an eagle nest with a baby eagle perched on a branch. My dog went for her maiden voyage on the kayak. Would highly recommend this lovely cottage.

Nice cabin, quiet and restful

  • 4 of 5

We had a great week at this cabin. Pam and Craig provided everything we needed. The lake is a very short distance, easy to walk and there was a rack at the lake where we could leave our canoe when we weren't using it. The lake is beautiful, not much boat traffic, very peaceful! Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us!!

Loved It!

  • 5 of 5

I was one of five adults who stayed at Bear Lodge for a week in June 2017 for Laconia Bike Week. This was my first trip to the New England area and this log cabin is truly beautiful inside and out. Very rustic. The weather was exceptionally warm (hot even) for mid-June. I don't believe I've ever stayed at a property that was so well equipped!!! The kitchen was very nicely stocked with everything you need to cook a nice meal. The beds were comfy and the bedrooms were cooled nicely from the window air conditioners. We slept like babies! The screened-in porch was absolutely awesome! We spent a lot of time on the porch in the evenings listening to music from the stereo located inside the cabin while enjoying a few cocktails. There was a small refrigerator on the porch that we kept our drinks in. We built a fire in the fire pit one night when it was a little chilly. Plenty of seating for everyone. Leave your chairs at home! A nice barbeque on the back deck that we used to cook steaks, chicken, and fish. We took a lot of road trips on our motorcycles while we were visiting the area. My favorite was a motorcycle ride to the top of Mt. Washington (beautiful!...like a mini Rocky Mountain!) We got some cool pictures of us on our bikes in the clouds! We, of course, did a couple days at main street in Laconia and we took a trip to Hampton Beach to see the ocean and we even rode into Maine for lobster. I would recommend this property if you want to get away from it all as it is nice and secluded but yet felt very safe. It is also within driving distance of restaurants and shopping so when you feel like eating out, it is just a few minutes drive to Sanborton. We were so busy we didn't have much lake/beach time but the lake is really beautiful and is located in close proximity of the cabin. Pam was wonderful to deal with from beginning to end. I had a little trouble booking my reservation online through VRBO, but Pam assured me she would hold my reservation for me which she did until I was successful in booking. Pam and Craig were waiting for us when we arrived to show us around the property. I texted her once for the wifi password and she responded quickly. Someone in our group forgot his Bluetooth but he is working with Pam to get it mailed home. All in all, we had a wonderful time, would highly recommend, and hope to someday be back to this wonderful log cabin in the woods in the beautiful state of New Hampshire!!!
