We feel this property is in the best location and environment possible. The property literally makes you feel like you are in the middle of a natural oasis, and yet it is minutes away from all amenities, shopping, restaurants, parks , beaches, and mountains.
The property was completely re-designed and re-built in 2009 by a professional architect, structural engineer and top local designer. We have had guests such as Corporate Executives, University Staff, Visiting Surgeons, Entertainment Executives, and Olympic Athletes stay at our property and they have all raved about the property and location.
This rental was perfect in all respects and I would give it more stars if I could. First of all, the location - near the highway and Lions Gate bridge, with easy access to everywhere, close to hiking trails, a 25 min. walk along the Capilano River to Park Royal shopping centre, and a short walk to public transportation. The property itself is private and quiet with lots of trees around and only the noise of the rushing brook at the foot of the garden. Now the house: modern, well-equipped, spacious, comfortable, airy and beautifully decorated. The king bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you could want, and if you do want something, Daniel will get it for you. Which brings me to the last and best aspect of renting this property - the renter, Daniel. When he says he wants you to feel like this property is your own, he means it. (Except he probably acts more quickly to get things done than I would!) If there is something that you need, or a small repair to be made, Daniel responds quickly. This property, and its owner Daniel, are real gems.
If you are looking for a extremely clean, well kept, comfortable and open concept living space then look no further. We stayed in the upper suite while our home was being renovated and it truly felt like our home away from home.
The location is in an easily accessible area, and the home is surrounded by a multitude of beautiful tress which made it very private. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook and bake and the appliances are top of the line! I really enjoyed cooking during our stay here. If you prefer to bbq, there is a clean bbq to use on the covered deck just outside of the dinning room. Daniel was an incredible host! He did everything to make sure we felt at home. He always responded to our emails extremely quickly and was a pleasure to deal with. We would recommend this home to anyone, and if we ever have friends needing a place to stay, this would be our first choice. Thanks again Daniel!
We stayed in the Garden Suite for a month and completely enjoyed our time there. The suite itself is large and spacious, with the best of both worlds, open concept living as well as privacy. It's tastefully decorated, without clutter, yet cozy. The large, bright kitchen is very well-equipped, with everything to meet the needs of the most adventurous cook. The one or two things that I needed, Dan was more than happy to provide. As a landlord, Dan is extremely accommodating, wanting his guests to have the best experience. He specifically asked us to let him know if we needed anything, as well as anything he could improve. As rental property owners ourselves, we really appreciated Dan's sincere intentions of making his home as turnkey as possible for his guests. As an example, there were starter supplies of the basic items we would need to begin our stay.
We also loved the suite from a location standpoint. When you looked out the windows onto the backyard, it was like being in a forest, in a quiet natural environment. As other reviewers have stated, it was beautiful and peaceful. Easy driving to anywhere in greater Vancouver via Hwy. 1, Marine Drive, and the Lion's Gate bridge. Exploring on foot? We loved the proximity to the Capilano Pacific Trail, a short 10 minute walk to this beautiful trail, reaching all the way up to the Cleveland Dam at the top of Grouse Mountain, as well as down onto Marine Drive, the main drive of West Vancouver, as well as a shortcut to Capilano Road in North Vancouver. Perfect for walkers and nature lovers.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would definitely return and highly recommend it to others!

This was a lovely home for our family. We stayed here while my husband was working in Vancouver, and having come from Los Angeles, it was an amazing treat to have so much natural beauty at our fingertips. The back yard is spacious and gorgeous, and there's even a creek running at the bottom! Huge trees and greenery everywhere gives it a magical feel. If you have young kids, the local schools are phenomenal. Ecole Cedardale is a five-minute walk away, which transformed our mornings (no traffic!). The home's location is incredibly convenient for shopping, as Park Royal is also walking distance (or a short drive) away. We made use of memberships to Grouse Mountain (I loved hiking the Grind and taking the kids ice skating and skiing too), and the Capilano Suspension Bridge was fun also. The suite itself is clean and very well decorated, with stylish furniture and a simple, classic design. Everything we needed was there - we literally just had to bring ourselves! The hot tub was fantastic, and a great way to unwind at the end of the day. We even made friends with neighbours up the street - this area is full of lovely people, and you'll feel welcomed right away. The owner is truly the kindest landlord you will ever have. He is attentive, caring and genuinely invested in the wellbeing of anyone who stays there. We had a wonderful time here, and we were truly sad to leave. If you're looking for a clean, impeccably furnished, modern home surrounded by gorgeous nature, this is a perfect fit. Add the fact that it's close to top-notch restaurants, shopping and outdoor activities, and it's more than anyone could ask for. Enjoy!
We are newlyweds in our late 30's who had come to Vancouver, BC last year for a career opportunity. We were only able to stay for an 8 month contract... & leaving this summer was so challenging for us! This West Vancouver location cannot be beat. The suite is spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet, & beautiful. The upper & lower patios, forest, stream running through the property, & overall magic of the location is unlike any place we had ever stayed before. If you are fortunate enough to stay in the Autumn months, you will even have salmon spawning in your backyard! My husband was working full-time downtown Vancouver, & just a convenient 10 minute drive over the Lion's Gate Bridge. We have a dog, & she thoroughly enjoyed the forest, as well as the Ambleside off leash dog park by the ocean, just 5 minutes away. With Park Royal mall down the hill, & Marine Drive running along the water - beautiful shops, restaurants, cafes, recreational facilities & green spaces are at your finger tips. The hot tub was a lovely treat at the end of a long day & we loved being enveloped by trees. We are nature lovers at heart - so being 10 minutes from Stanley Park, Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal (Vancouver Island, Mayne Island, Gulf Islands), Capilano Pacific Trail, Deep Cove, & hiking/skiing/snowshoeing at Mt. Seymour, Grouse Mountain, & Cypress Mountain, made this location a dream. The landlord & his family are some of the kindest people you will meet. They go above & beyond to make their guests feel at home. May your stay here bring you the comfort, joy, peace & rejuvenation that it brought us. We would give this property 10 stars if we could!
