Christmas lights in levenworth
Nice place! We had a good time. A plus that they had coffee as we forgot ours. Cabin was cute and clean. The hot tub was awesome!
Hey Elicia, happy to hear that you enjoyed your Leavenworth vacation! We'd love to have you again whenever you're craving some fun in the snow. Best, Mysty Mountain
Beautiful, private, clean and cozy!
A small group of friends and I stayed here for a weekend retreat/bachelorette. The property was extremely clean, cozy, and well-maintained. We loved it from the moment we walked in! The kitchen was well-stocked with all the tools and appliances we needed. The hot tub is huge and perfect for a group! We discovered the river/creek on our final day and wish we would have checked it out earlier as it would have been a lovely place to while away a hot afternoon; just steps from the cabin - gorgeous and pristine! Can't recommend this place highly enough - we're eager to return!
Jenny, thank you for choosing Mysty Mountain Properties and our Sunland Lodge for your getaway. We appreciate the review and we'd love to have you back to stay again anytime!
Quit, Clean & Relaxing!
My husband and I brought our 9 year old daughter and 17 month old son to this cabin, and it was perfect! We really enjoyed our stay, it was peaceful and quiet, exactly what we were looking for. Our 9 year old enjoyed the snow, and felt like a big girl since she got the entire upstairs to herself. Our 17 month old did great with the downstairs layout. We brought our child proof fence and used it to block the stairs, and it was perfect! Oh and the hot tub was delightful and clean. My only recommendation for the owners would be to look toward replacing the couch in the living room. Its wonderful to lay on, but not very comfortable to sit on. You are basically sitting on the sleeper sofa in the couch, and it could make it difficult for some to stand up from a sitting position, since the couch is so low to the ground.
We look forward to coming to this cabin again!
Melissa, thank you for the great review, we loved having you stay! Come back again anytime.
Perfectly acceptable, but could be oh so much more!
The positives:
Super clean. Ample supply of paper goods & soaps. Dishes & eating utensils adequate for an entire day. Management very responsive & professional. (Ceiling fan out, & they promptly brought us a portable unit.) Terms of rental clear and reasonable. Beautiful treed setting. Dogs allowed! :)
The "needs to improve":
--Minimally stocked kitchen--not enough cooking utensils/apparatus; needs Tupperware or plastic wrap, & basic spices would be nice.
--Too much bramble at creek access. Five minutes & a machete, and this could be vastly improved.
--The big bedroom upstairs would make a lovely master suite. Why is the double bed on the ground? An armoire would serve as an easy closet substitute. So much potential for this room! The other two bedrooms share one tiny bathroom & fit little more than a bed & dresser in each. (Pics look bigger.)
--Would rather have wifi than TV
If you don't like surprises:
There is a trailer just a few feet from the kitchen window. It looks like this is another property? Fortunately, it was unoccupied during out stay. We would not have been very happy with such close neighbors. The property on the other side of the cabin was vacant for our first 3 nights, and then someone set up a tent in that yard, right next to our fire pit. Again, we like privacy, and had we planned to use the fire pit that night, we would have been most unhappy.
Almost no accessible closets or hooks even. No hair dryer or clothes iron. Bring bug spray. LOTS & LOTS of bug spray.
And now... the TRAIN! This really should be mentioned in the listing. Just on the other side of the creek are railroad tracks. The trains run ALL hours of the night and day. The trains are not quiet. Our dog does not like noisy trains = cardiac arrest for the owners in the dead of night. You can't fix this; the property is where it is, but in fairness to the renters, this fact should be disclosed.
Overall, it was not our best, nor our worst vacation. We think the cabin is overpriced for its size and proximity to potential neighbors and THE TRAIN. Dog fee is excessive, too. Except for the train comment, none of this review is intended to be a complaint, but rather suggestions for improvement. So much potential for this cabin. I kept thinking, a man must have planned this place. No closets, no hair dryer, minimally-stocked kitchen, difficult creek access, .... Get a woman's eye for practical detail in here, and you've got a winner!
Successful family vacation
My family and I had such a great time during our stay. The cabin was nice and clean when we arrived and they had so much amenities that were extremely useful throughout our trip. The rooms were perfect sizes and the Kitchen/livingroom, Back deck and fire pit areas were great for the family to come together and enjoy the trip as a whole, with a goregous view of the forest while doing so. The creek was also running just a little walking distance from the home. The inner town was beautiful and had so many atrractions with plenty of things to do. Although it was a little ways drive the scenery on the way was amazing and there was a few places to pull over and soak it all in. The only downside i can think of was the lack of phone reception at the cabin (although the inner town did have good reception) and the bugs (which should not be to bad as long as you bring plenty of bug repellent). Besides that our trip was amazing and we are totally satisfied with the choice we made when picking our rental. Highly recommended
