Overview

About the property

5 BEDROOM(7 BED), 3 BATH FULLY FURNISHED CABIN STYLE HOME with all amenities

Having spent many years traveling to Mt. View for family fishing vacations we were totally smitten with the natural beauty of the White River and its’ wonderful Rainbow Trout fishing. After years of renting in the area we decided to build our dream vacation home. With the help of many friends and relatives we built our “Friendship House”. It was a true labor of love and one we are willing to share with others.

Located a 10 minute drive from downtown Mountain View, Arkansas the “Folk Music Capital of the World”, Friendship House is yards from the beautiful World Class Rainbow Trout fishing White River.

You can spend your day relaxing on the wrap around porch in a wooden rocking chair or gear up for a hike in the Ozark National Forest; rent a boat at the nearby dock for a day of trout fishing on your own or with a registered guide; take a guided tour through Blanchard Springs Caverns (tours even include a Wild Cave tour for the really adventurous). There is a swimming area located near the Caverns that is fed by Blanchard Springs and is a favorite of young and old alike. Canoe rentals are available for a lazy float on the White River as well. A visit to the Ozark Folk Center is a great destination with fun activities for people of all ages. It is dedicated to the preservation and perpetuation of traditional Ozark Mountain crafts and music. Mt. View is the home of the McSpadden Mountain Dulcimer. Horseback riding is also available in the area.

After a day of adventure you can visit downtown Mt. View and enjoy an evening of Folk music at its best. You will be amazed at the abundant talent available. Take your lawn chair and prepare to become immersed in the traditional music from the past.

A trip into town for lunch and homemade ice cream at Woods Soda Fountain is a must. If your interest is in artisan crafts, Stone Country Iron Works and the Ozark Craft Guild should be your next destination.

Tommy’s Famous Pizza is our favorite place for pizza and ribs. There are numerous wonderful places to eat in and around Mt. View for local Southern dishes and fish specialties.

The cabin sleeps 14 with 1 King, 5 queen, and 1 full sized bed and one port-a-crib. There are 5 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms, a large fully stocked kitchen and laundry room. All your needs are taken care of including a flat screen TV with DVD player. There is plenty of room on the property for lawn games and cooking out on the charcoal grill.

We hope you will enjoy our home away from home! Come experience some Southern hospitality.

Why ROBERT BALENTINE chose Mountain View

We chose this area of Stone County for its proximity to the White River and its beautiful bluffs which can be seen from our wide wrap around porch. We traveled all over the county before finding this ideal location to build our 'home away from home'. We still live approximately 2:45 away and find it just the right distance to feel as if we have traveled to paradise.

What makes this cabin unique

Friendship House is located on a large lot which allows you privacy to relax and enjoy time with your friends or family and yet it is only a 10 minute drive from downtown Mt. View and minutes from trout fishing and/or canoeing on the beautiful White River and minutes from visiting Blanchard Springs Caverns and the Ozark National Forest hiking trails.

Loved it

It was very hot, so the air didn't keep up! We had several fans to help move the air though.
