Custom Log Home Close To Winter Park Ski Resort and Pole Creek Golf Course

The Location

Just a short 9-mile drive from the town center of Winter Park and 15 miles from the ski area of Winter Park Resort, The Pole Creek area is one of the most unique and beautiful master-planned residential communities in the Colorado mountains. 'The Lazy Z' is just a short walk to the clubhouse of the 27-hole award-winning championship golf course of Pole Creek.

The House

Built in 2000 / 2001, this log home occupies 3 levels of living space offering 5 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and a heated living space of 3,700 square feet, 'The Lazy Z' can sleep up to 14 people, making it a perfect vacation venue at any time of the year for large families or groups of couples.

Knotty pine hardwood floors run throughout the main living areas. The lower level and bedrooms are carpeted.

Main Level

The 2-story Great Room is open to the dining / kitchen area complete with a comfortable leather chair and sofa. Gracing the walls of the great room are two local trophies.

The adjoining dining area seats 6 people with an additional 3 place settings at the kitchen counter and an option to add 4-6 more in the glass enclosed sun room just off the dining area

A large wrap-around deck can be accessed through the dining room, sun room or great room.

The spacious and fully-equipped kitchen is ideal for cooking of small or large parties.

There are three bedrooms on the main level. Bedroom #1 and bedroom #2 each have queen-size beds and share a full Jack and Jill bathroom.

Bedroom #3 (sleeps 2) has one twin bunk bed and direct access to the half bathroom on the main floor.

The sun room is off the dining area and is perfect area to read, play cards or to just relax and enjoy the outdoor scenery in 3 directions.

Upper Level

The master bedroom and large loft area are located on the upper level. Looking down on the great room living area is the loft which has a sleeper sofa that can sleep 2 and a flat screen to watch blue-ray DVD's. Just off the loft area is the master bedroom. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, fireplace and a small walk out deck. The spacious master bathroom has a, walk-in steam shower, Sanijet hot tub and double sink vanities.

Lower Level

The large family and game room is sure to be popular for all ages. The room has three main focal points. The living area, with comfortable sectional sofa is ideal for watching TV on the large flat screen or watching a movie on the blue-ray DVD player. The large open area has a stone gas fireplace, foosball table and plenty of room to pull out the ping pong table for fun matches among friends and family members. There is also a square pub table perfect for playing board games or a game of cards.

On this level there is also a washer, dryer and iron / ironing board for guest use.

A 5th bedroom is located on the lower level as well. The room has a queen sized bed to accommodate two adults.

The bathroom on the lower level is across from the bedroom and has a full shower to accommodate the lower level guests.

The lower level has access to a small outside patio and to the two-car garage. Guests will typically enter the house through the garage where there is a mudroom for storing shoes, jackets, gloves etc.

Additional Features and Amenities

WIFI Internet

The wrap-around deck off the main level can be accessed from the dining room, sun room or the great room and offers up a gas BBQ, chairs and a great view! Steps lead down to the patio area below and to a gas fire pit available to guests (unless advised otherwise by area restrictions).

Other Information

Private transportation is essential as the free bus transportation system only extends to the Town of Fraser.

Please note that pets and smoking are not allowed.

The house and Pole Creek area is adjacent to one of the most unique recreational resorts in Colorado – the 5,000 acre YMCA-operated Snow Mountain Ranch. Access the cross-country ski and snowshoe trail systems in winter, or enjoy hiking, biking, horseback riding or many other activities they offer in the summer.

About Jim Zasowski

I (Jim) grew up in Clifton, NJ and Sheri was raised in Memphis, TN. We have 3 children, 2 boys married and our daughter currently attends college in Tennessee. We currently live in Greenwood Village, CO. We built this log home back in 2000/2001 and have created memories to last a lifetime over the years with our family and friends.

Why Jim Zasowski chose Winter Park Area

We purposely built our log home in this location because of the peacefulness of the Pole Creek area and to get a true 'Rocky Mountain' feel and experience vs. the busy city life. With that said, the location is perfect as it is a short drive to the many recreational sites here in Grand County (ski, golf, hike, fishing, horseback riding, spas etc.).

What makes this house unique

You can literally walk to Pole Creek Golf Course and Snow Mountain Ranch from the property!

First trip ever to Colorado.Our stay at the Lazy Z was the best decision beautiful home.

We made this family trip looking to simply have the opportunity to see snow. We were amazed by the beauty of Colorado. The icing on the cake was the Lazy Z cabin we stayed at. Close enough to town and at the same town far enough to feel away from the small town. The communication and information from James made every step easy. We made a lifetime of awesome memories.

Great Cabin!

First Winter Vacation

My friends and I enjoyed 3 short nights in this wonderful home. We all wished we would have stayed longer. The location of the home was perfect for what we wanted to do. It was nice and quiet. It definitely was a great place to relax after a long day in the snow. We plan to return again with our family next time. Mr. Jim was also a pleasure to work with! Oh, and the home is BEAUTIFUL!

We enjoyed our time at the Lazy Z! The size of the house easily accommodated our group of 9!

The snow didn't fall until our final evening, but I that was a great way to complete our stay! The Lazy Z had everything we needed to accommodate our group of 9, including 5 kids ages 8-15. We enjoyed soaking in the hot tub after each of our ski days. Perfect place for families to enjoy some time in a quiet area in the beautiful Colorado Rockies!

Great house for large family

We spent a week at the Lazy Z with 12 adults and were very comfortable. Jim sent lots of information before we arrived and checked on us to make sure everything was going well. The only issue was with the garage code and house key situation from the management company, but I'm sure Jim will get that straightened out. The house is very comfortable and had everything we needed for preparing meals. It is outside of town, so the quiet and peace were nice. The view of the mountains was very nice as well. We will definitely consider it again if we have a large group.

We are just 20 minutes from Winter Park ski area, 15 minutes from Granby Ranch ski area and golf course. In addition, the house is only minutes from Devil's Thumb Ranch that includes; pools, sauna, spa, zip lines, 2 restaurants, bar, horseback riding, sleigh rides, wine cellar, snowshoeing and cross country skiing.

During summers, enjoy a short drive to one of three recreational lakes; Lank Granby, Grand Lake and Shadow Mountain Lake. Rocky Mountain National Park is a must see if you have never been... just a 30 minute drive from the house right outside the small resort town of Grand Lake, CO.
