If you are having a golfing trip, family reunion, girls trip, etc., consider our other property to add to this one. It is only 5 doors down---a small walk---the listing number is #452568.
Randy and I were born and raised in Texas. We have 2 boys and 2 girls. We welcomed our first grandchild, Charlie, July 31, 2013. Our second grandchild was born January 23, 2015 and another one on the way for September 2015. We feel so blessed! We are self-employed, which gives us the ability to travel more than we used to. Until 2007 I was a middle school counselor and Randy worked as a general manager for a steel company before we became self-employed. Around 2005 we became time-share owners with Escapes in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. We absolutely fell in love with the mountains and scenery in Hot Springs Village and ended up buying our first vacation rental home in April 2007. That property is called Tranquility Cottage---VRBO listing #452568---It is just 5 houses down from this listing. We bought Tranquility Cottage 2 (this home) and put on VRBO in late June 2014. With these 2 homes just 5 doors down from each other, it makes it easy for people that are coming for family reunions and golf trips to walk to see each other, rather than drive just to be with each other.
Donna Southerland purchased this house in 2014
This is a place where we come to relax and be with friends and family. The nice thing is that there are so many things to do that are very close by, yet we have a really nice place to come home to. We bring our parents up in the fall and spring to see the beautiful foliage. Randy loves golfing (which is really why we bought here in the first place!) With 9 golf courses to choose from, he's always happy when he's here. In the fall and spring of each year he brings up a group of golfing buddies (it has grown to 20 guys) and they play every day and eat at restaurants at the golf courses or just outside the West Gate. I bring my friends up for a girls' retreat and we rent a boat either at Lake Balboa in the Village, Lake Quachita (about 15 minutes down the road), or Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs. We shop in Hot Springs and find hiking trails to walk on in the Village. The horse races are also fun as well as the casinos which are in the same building.
There are so many different things to do that are within 20-30 minutes of our house that we never get bored. Having a 26,000-acre gated community with 9 golf courses and 11 lakes, along with many other amenities is very appealing to us. Our homes in the Village are called 'Tranquility' for a reason---it is our refuge from our busy lives in Texas!
Our family of three enjoyed our stay at the Tranquility cottage. The pictures on VRBO don't quite do the home justice. It is very, very lovely and spacious with attractive decor and as comfortable as my own house. The woodsy setting is so peaceful. We enjoy walking and there were lots of quiet streets to do that. Everything worked, was neat and clean as could be and the kitchen was well furnished. We had a little trouble getting the living room TV to change channels but I put my son on the job and he figured it out after a few tries. That was my only complaint. We usually visit Hot Springs once a year and this was our first stay at the Village and it won't be our last. We absolutely loved it and look forward to returning here.
Great stay only negative wood deck on back porch to small for large furniture.
It was our first trip to the Hot Springs area. We really enjoyed the tranquility of the Village.
The house afforded plenty of space and privacy. Our stay was only three nights and we crammed a lot of activities into them. The access to the location was close to the west gate, which was very convenient, since most of our activities were in Hot Springs. We would recommend this property to anyone who wants a quiet place to stay.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was very nice and well maintained. Everything we need was there for us. The golf courses were in great shape as well. Thank you for allowing us to rent your house.
This home is nice and in a good location when visiting Hot Springs. My family of 6 and 2 dogs have plenty of space and a really good time.
This property was a great fit for us. I had to buy very little for our own use -I think a few trash bags- but that may change depending on who leaves what. It certainly had more provisions than some places I've rented.
Knowing that pets were allowed, I wondered how clean it would be, and this may have been the biggest pleasant surprise of all- it was very, very clean! I have a strong sniffer, and found it to smell very fresh, too.
Nothing fancy but everything was nice, in great shape, and we were perfectly comfortable and felt right at home for our 4 nights. Owners were super pleasant and responsive, too. I highly recommend this place!
