About John and Carolyn Clark

My name is John and my wife's name is Carolyn. We currently reside in St. John's County Florida. We moved to Florida in 2003 and have enjoyed it ever since. I served twenty years in the U.S. Navy and retired in 2007.

Why John and Carolyn Clark chose Florida North East

Since moving to Florida in 2003, we soon discovered St. Augustine Beach and instantly fell in love with it. We searched for many years until we found this condo and knew we had to have it. So sit back, relax and enjoy your own Ocean view.

Reviewer Comments:

Very pleased with this rental. Lots of seating, king size bed was very comfortable, bedrooms on opposite sides with their own bath, fenced yard great for little dogs or children. Sit on sofa and look at the ocean or on screened porch or patio all with ocean views. Rocks blocked beach due to hurricane but short walk to get on beach. Little bit of drive to stores and restaurants but can get to most anything you need in 10 minutes or so.

Great home, especially if you have kids or pets. L

  • 4 of 5

Home laid out nicely, very comfortab0le, plenty of comfortable seating, bed was great , decorated nicely, fenced area for dogs or children Fantastic view from living room, bedroom or screened porch, nice neighbor next door. Rocks in front of home, have to walk a little ways to sand but worth it for the view, little bit of a drive to get to restaurants and stores. Sand burrs got on dogs so we pulled weeds when we first got there but stuff happens. Overall, great place and we will be back.

I cant remember the exact dates we were there, but we stayed for 2 weeks, and we thoroughly enjoyed this place. We have dogs, so this was spectacular for them. We met lots of very nice people while there. My husband and I both enjoyed ourselves and loved the home. Thanks for allowing us to stay there, and we do plan on trying to stay again this coming year

Wonderful, quiet getaway off season

  • 5 of 5

We needed a quiet place on the beach to decompress after a hard year and this was the perfect place. Our dogs loved the yard, but beware if you have jumpers or dogs bigger than a dachshund as they can jump the fence.

The inside of the house was perfect and much better than we expected for the price. The bathrooms are tiny, but very clean. The kitchen is stellar and the living room has wonderful views and great seating.

First warning: there is no beach access at high tide near the house. During low tide you can access a small beach down the road via an unsafe staircase, but I wouldn't recommend it. I watched the jumping dolphins and crazy surfers the whole week, from the backyard, and I didn't care that I couldn't touch the water.

Other caveat: there is a homeowner whose house is almost attached to this one who has a giant mean dog. She, herself is not friendly, and will call the rental agency on you if your dog barely barks. I'm talking like if your dog barks three times in a row, she will call. I can't imagine how she is with loud children!! After the first day, we ignored her because she must live a lonely life if she's that bent on being a meany.

Overall, I really recommend this place and we'll definitely go back.

I recommend you bring your own folding chairs for the backyard because theirs aren't very comfortable, sorry!!

Owner's Response: We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay, however, we did not recieve any complaints from the neighbor behind the unit. The complaint about your dogs was from a neighbor several houses down from the property.

Reviewer Comments:

Pros: the house was very tastefully decorated . It was very spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable. Cons: it was not disclosed to us that we were staying in the middle of the ruins from hurricane Matthew in October 2016. I thought I was paying for beach access. There was a lot of debris everywhere and a lot of people just hanging out in front of our house. There is a sign on the main road for no through traffic except for locals. These people did not to be locals. We are in our late 60's and my husband never got to go to the beach. It was just too treacherous to climb up and down all the rocks and broken cement. Our 15 month old and 4 year old grandchildren could not just walk out and play on the beach. It was too treacherous to carry a baby up and down the rocks and broken cement. I feel like an honest property manager would have told us about this and then given us the option to rent something else. Also, even though it is pet friendly the fence surrounding the yard was only 2 and 1/2 feet high. My lab kept jumping the fence. That is something else that was not told to use beforehand. It was 7 miles to the closest grocery store. Because of all the people hanging out around the house at night my husband would not let me do the laundry at night because the laundry was outside. Also, I got tired of lulling all the large palmetto bugs and water spiders. I feel an honest property manager would have told us prior to our stay.

Owner's Response: To say the least, we are completley shocked. We have recieved nothing less than 5 star reviews on this property. It was completely redone and everything in the home is completely new, including the walls, the floors, the kitchen, the appliances, everything. It is amazing. As far as the beach, the access is at the end of the dead end road which is about a block down in front of the home. In fact, we received many complaints from neighbors regarding your dogs and your failure to keep them from barking at all times of the day and night, which I personally called you about and you did not mention any of these issues.
