About the property

3 bedroom 3 bathroom with Wifi, Internet and Satellite TV

At 7700' above sea level, this Swedish Cope full-round log home offers you a fantastic location and unique experience for your Pagosa vacation. A big yard and plenty of parking in the front pad and driveway direct you towards an expansive deck just perfect for reading, watching sunsets or viewing the wildlife that wanders through the property.

Inside, the spacious living-dining area has a soaring ceiling that showcases the log construction along with a wall of windows. There is a wood burning stove for those cold winter nights and radiant floor heating on the first floor. There is also a puzzle/game table, lots of seating (one couch is a sofa bed), internet TV with satellite, and a DVD player. The dining table seats 12 easily. Wifi is available throughout the home and decks and a printer is available.

The kitchen is completely equipped with every small appliance you might want to create gourmet meals, lots of spices and baking dishes and an additional round table for serving, games, or eating. There are dishes and glassware for 12. Off the kitchen is a sun room perfect for a leisurely breakfast and another small deck just right for reading or bird-watching.

The master bedroom is downstairs with a king log bed and its own dual-sink bathroom with huge shower. There is also a TV in the master with satellite access. The laundry room has a washer and dryer, folding table, and doggie door to a fenced area. An additional bath with shower is also downstairs.

Two bedrooms (1 with king bed; 1 with two full beds) and a loft (queen sleeper sofa) are upstairs as well as a full bath. The loft can be made more private with hanging quilts (supplies & directions in the home). Every room has a ceiling fan and windows with screens as well as electric wall heaters for the cold months. Shelves with games, puzzles, cards, and books are also upstairs for your use.

A hammock for the backyard, sleds, snowshoes, yard games, deck chairs, folding chairs for the music festival or parades, charcoal grill, and fishing pole are in the garage. (Sorry, the Jeep is not available for use by guests!)

About Janis & Ed Boulware

Both born and raised in Houston, we wanted our 3 boys to learn to ski at ages earlier than we had learned, so we began annual ski trips to Colorado resorts as soon as the first one was out of diapers! The fantastic snow at Wolf Creek and having friends with a house here led us to look more closely at Pagosa Springs. We love the small town feel and finding this home just sealed the deal.

Janis & Ed Boulware purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Janis & Ed Boulware chose Southwest

We always dreamed of owning a log cabin in Colorado - who doesn't? When we saw this home we fell in love with it! The full round logs are beautiful and create a unique living environment that is nothing like our main home in Texas. Skiing doesn't get any better than at Wolf Creek, the music festivals are great fun, and the town is friendly with lots of great restaurants and brew pubs. Watching the hot air balloons rise over the trees is pretty cool, too!

What makes this cabin unique

An Invisible Fence (brand) surrounds the property but there is also a doggie door and fenced in area off the laundry room. Turkeys, deer and bear wander through the yard so we feel like we're in the wilderness, but restaurants and the grocery store are as close to us as are great hiking trails or fishing (and that matters when you forgot something for dinner and don't want to travel a long distance to get it!).

Beautiful house

  • 5 of 5

The house is well equipped and clean and convenient both to town and to great hiking trails. The owners are very responsive and so is the property manager. We would definitely stay here again. When at home we spent a lot of our time in the wonderful sun room where we could watch all the birds, the deer, the squirrels, and other little critters. Our dog loved it too! Speaking of the dog, this house was the best we've ever rented for containing the dog. It has a doggie door in the laundry room and a gate you can put across the entry to the laundry room. The doggie door exits to a nice size enclosed outdoor pen. It was perfect. Great house!

Amazing!!

  • 5 of 5

Will not disappoint!! Located in an area of year round residents, you don't have the feeling of being closed in by the typical tourist rentals.

The house will feel like your home... it was the best stocked home I've ever rented, plus it was clean! ! Already thinking of my next visit!

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

This was perfect for our family gathering at Thanksgiving. The great room and large table allowed us to all eat together. The kitchen was well equipped. There was lots of space for 9 people.

Comfortable, Convenient, and Inviting

  • 5 of 5

This was our first experience renting through VRBO, and the experience was delightful. Booking was easy, and the owners were very responsive to any of our queries.

The spacious home very well suited our extended family of seven (six adults and one child). The website presented a very good description of the property. The rooms are large and well furnished: the beds are comfortable and provided a good nights sleep. We especially enjoyed the large downstairs family room and the well stocked kitchen.

The house was located just a short and easy drive from the main highway which traverses Pagosa Springs and all of its attractions, including grocery store, restaurants, river, hot springs, and hiking trails.

We saw deer on the grounds most days, and hummingbirds were observed regularly visiting the feeder outside the rear deck.

We would definitely recommend this property to family and friends looking for a Colorado mountain getaway.
