About the Property
Wonderful Facility For Family Vacations Or Couples Retreats.
You enter our home into the great room with vaulted ceilings and pine floors throughout the area. The living area, kitchen and dining room have an open flow. The area features a glass front which opens onto a balcony with spectacular views of Cove Mountain and Little Round Top. Rocking chairs, wood burning fireplace, flat screen TV and leather sofa and love seat furnish the living area. There is a stereo system, DVD player and cable TV. The dining table seats 6 and two additional seats are at the kitchen bar.
The kitchen is equipped with a toaster oven, coffee pot, microwave, blender, dishwasher with detergent, electric stove/oven and refrigerator. Ample dish and glassware, cookware and utensils, flatware and kitchen linens.
Just off the kitchen are the laundry and game rooms. The Game room has a ping pong table, dart board and a card table. Board games and decks of cards are in this area. The laundry room includes a washer and dryer, iron and ironing board.
There are 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Pine floors continue in the bedroom area. The sleeping facilities include 2 queen sized beds and two twin. In addition, there are two cots stored in a walk-in closet for additional children.
Ample additional linens are stored in the hall closet. Bathrooms, one off the hall and one off the master, have tub/shower combinations, hairdryers, and ceramic tiled floors.
Outside amenities feature a balcony running the full width of the house, a dining patio with table and chairs and a charcoal grill. An additional picnic table is behind the house. Outdoor chairs are stored in the game room which opens onto the patio.
The valley area has a Subway, pizza restaurant and a good 'go-out-to-dine' restaurant, Elvira's. Groceries, gas, ATM, antiques and various other shops are very near.
One of the Smoky Mountains' three entrances is located just 1.5 mi. from our home at Metcalf Bottoms. Hiking trails, Little Greenbrier School House, fly fishing and picnic facilities are in this area. From Metcalf Bottoms, it is a short drive to the Elkmont camping area and Laurel Falls hiking trail. There are historical buildings in the Elkmont area which was formerly a resort area where the Wonderland Hotel once stood. There is a great swimming hole on the Elkmont entrance road. Sugarlands Visitors' Center and Gatlinburg are a few miles beyond the Laurel Falls hiking trail. We often see bears on our way to Metcalf Bottoms. Beautiful!!
Townsend is 5.5 miles away and Cades Cove is approximately 13 mi. A ride through the Valley will lead to Pigeon Forge, home of Dollywood, Splash Country, Dinner theaters, restaurants and Outlet shopping. Many, many attractions are in this area.
Our home is centrally located in areas appealing to those who love the outdoors and historic sites, theme parks, amusement parks, dining and shopping. We have it all within a short drive!!

About the owner: We are the potters of the Thomas Pottery Gallery. We used this home to operate a pottery studio and retail gallery for several years. When retiring from full time shop keeping, we could not part with this property. We continue to sell our pottery at the nearby Wears Valley Antique and Craft Gallery and operate our home as a vacation rental. We live about an hour away.
