About the property

2 Story, 3 Bedroom, 3 Bath, Sleeps 8. 2 Blocks From The Beach. Huge Yard & BBQ!

This is a gorgeous, luxurious, and spacious property. Fully remodeled 3 bedroom and 3 bathroom home. Plus an Office/Den with a beautiful west facing view. Perfect for work if needed. There is brand new designer furniture in every room in the house!! Two of the bedrooms including the master bedroom have a balcony with a view. This is the ONLY house on the canals with a double lot and huge side yard!!!!

Every bedroom has a brand new flat screen t.v. with cable and Netflix. There is high speed WiFi throughout the entire house, 300 BPS! The living room is perfect for families to relax and unwind after a long day; next to a fireplace, while watching movies on a brand new 70 inch(178cm) flat screen! We have two beach cruisers(bicycles) to explore the boardwalk with. There are 2 canoes and a kayak to paddle around the canals. You have private parking behind the house, large enough for FIVE Cars! You have a washer and a dryer to keep your clothes fresh.

In my opinion, the most relaxing and serene part of the house, is the patio and BBQ dining area. You have a brand new, state of the art BBQ to grill your food on. This area is perfect for all meals; breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

When it's time to leave the property, the venice boardwalk, beach, and the world famous ABBOT KINNEY Blvd., are just a few steps away!

Just a little Hollywood info, our house was used in the famous movie 'The Doors' starring Val Kilmer and Meg Ryan, directed by Oliver Stone! So don't be surprised if there are paparazzi!(just kidding)

We are looking forward to making your vacation an experience you will never forget!

About Daniel and Julia

My name is Daniel, my wife Julia, and my mother Linda are renting out our home. I grew up in Venice Beach and currently live in Los Angeles. Julia is from Germany and speaks four languages: English, German, Spanish, and Russian. She and I are both in real estate and my mother Linda is a retired editor in T.V production. My wife and I know the most entertainig restaurants, night clubs, bars, tourist attractions, shopping areas, best scenic views, and everything you could want to visit while staying in Los Angeles! We are very hospitable people and go above and beyond to make sure all your needs are satisfied. We look forward to making your vacation unforgettable!

Why Daniel and Julia chose Los Angeles

Venice has the 3 MAIN attractions that just about every person looks for in a city: The Beach, Amazing Weather, and Entertainment! Besides growing up in Venice, I still feel that this is my absolute favorite town. As far as living in your home in Venice, there is no better place than the Canals.

What makes this house unique

There is nothing like waking up in the morning and stepping out to take a walk along the canals. There are birds, ducks, geese, and fish right at your feet! If you want a jaw dropping sunset sitting on the beach with your feet in the sand, thats only two blocks west. The weather is always perfect and cool ocean breezes are very soothing.

This house has a huge side yard; perfect for kids, pets, parties, and just having plenty of space. There is a view of the canal from the kitchen, dining room, living room, and master bedroom.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Gabe and his girlfriend Cat were great guests!! They were fun to talk with, respectful, and cleaned up after they left. Our neighbors commented on how much fun they were to have as guests. I will absolutely will rent to Gabe and Cat again!

Outstanding Property

  • 5 of 5

This is an outstanding property in every way - location, amenities, and management. The house itself is beautiful and comfortable. We were there both alone and with guests and the house always felt spacious. The side yard is extraordinary (my dog thanks you). The houses's location on the canals puts you a block and a half from the ocean but far enough away that you avoid street noise and partiers. Further, the way the house is sited on the canal preserves the privacy of occupants from gawkers. Daniel could not have been more gracious and helpful. This was the best rental experience we've ever had.

Couldn't be Better!

  • 5 of 5

Everything about the house, its location and the Owner is great!

The house is actually larger than it appears in the photos, is very comfortable, is well-equipped, and very clean. Plenty of towels and linens, pots and pans, cups and glasses. Lots of great artwork gives the place a homelike feel without being cluttered. Warm contemporary is a good way to describe the decor.

Most of the canal homes in Venice Beach are on very small lots and close together -- often less than ten feet apart. This one is on a double lot on a corner and so feels much less constrained by the neighbors. There are several discrete seating areas outside so its easy to find a place for alone time if needed. And the landscaping is gorgeous.

The location in Venice Beach is in walking distance to the restaurants and shops on Washington Street and the Boardwalk but far enough away to be removed from the noise and hustle and bustle of those areas. It is also an easy drive to the Freeways -- good luck with the infamous SoCal traffic once you get there, though! And considering how close it is to LAX, I would have expected a lot of airplane noise but that is not the case at all. Peaceful and tranquil instead.

Finally, Daniel -- the Owner -- was extremely helpful throughout the rental process and as we began our stay. He graciously allowed us to come in early (we got to see the cleaning crew in action -- fantastic job) and showed genuine concern about making our stay as great as possible. Gave us great advice on local restaurants and got back to us quickly to answer any questions. But once we got there, we really had no reason to contact him -- everything was perfect. Very nice guy!

Hope to visit again!

Unique place, a fascinating, unusual corner of LA. The home was delightful as was the attentive owner. Excellent facilities, just sorry we didn't have time to take full advantage. Would recommend to anyone..

Great house, great location!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed there with our family of 5 (plus our dog). The house had plenty of room and a great indoor/outdoor flow, which is perfect being on the canals. We took advantage of the location and walked to restaurants, shopping, market, the beach each day.

The weather was a bit cold for our stay (and rainy), so we did not get to take advantage of the nice outdoor yard, BBQ and canoes, but those are great attributes to this house.

We really enjoy Venice, but there is a bit of a mixed bag with the various neighborhoods. The homes on the canals are really nice, but even with that, we came back one evening to find a homeless person completely changing clothes and going thru various trash cans. It's all part of the charm of Venice...(but comfort level could vary with visitors).

We would not hesitate to rent this house again!

Sister Reunion was perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Daniel was so accommodating and anxious to please. We had plenty of room for the four of us, each with her own sleeping area. We drew straws for the master bedroom, the guest bedroom, the bedroom with the double bed, and the den, where Daniel put a single bed for us. All the bedrooms and den are upstairs. Two of us shared the master bedroom bath and two of us shared the upstairs hallway bath. All of the beds were comfortable. There were so many outdoor patios we didn't have time to sit in all of them! We spent most of our time on the downstairs outdoor deck or in the living room, or, of course, in the morning, at the dining room table. The parking is ample - the enclosed garage made my sister feel safe with her new car. The house and kitchen are very nicely appointed - attractive artwork, valuable decorations, and even a set of Cutco knives. There are a drip and a Keurig-style coffee makers. There were several tourists passing by and trying to look in across the yard from the canal into the living room, and there are no blinds to shut them out, but that part wasn't really that bothersome - it was kinda fun staying in a home that others found so attractive that they wanted to see inside! The neighborhood is so much fun; all the homes along the canals are well cared for, with lovely gardens, etc., and it was especially fun to see all of the Halloween and Day of the Dead decorations. The house is far enough away from the beach to keep out the riffraff, but close enough that it was an easy walk to the Venice Pier and the beach. The restaurants in Venice and Santa Monica were exquisite - some of our favorites were The Rose, and the Living Room Bar in the Shutters Hotel. And late October was a perfect time to go - we had a little rain and some clouds, but the temperature was perfect - not too hot and not too cold. Thank you, Daniel and Julia, for a wonderful stay.
