Warm and comfy! Our two kids really embraced the Seattle weather once we discovered the very short walk into Lincoln Park to the play structure and cool zipline. Very friendly neighborhood! Easy drives to Alki beach and Pike Place for tourist exploration, and other neighborhoods to visit friends and family made the location even better! Our first trip to Seattle was a great successs. We are all sad to go...but look forward to visiting in warm weather!
We stayed a month and enjoyed the stay immensely. The house is cozy but fully equipped as a place to stay, cook and live. Perfect for a couple, even with a kid or two. Two couples could stay there if they were close friends.
Jen is a charm of a hostess and things were clean and tidy. The house itself it compact but complete. Kitchen had just about everything one needed to cook meals easily. The back yard and deck acted as an expansion of the house for us with the good weather we had and the Weber kettle grill was perfect for our needs.
With Lincoln Park at the end of the block and only a 3 mile walk (or drive) to Alki beach, there were many ways to get out and spend the day. Shopping and groceries just a 10 minute drive away.
All in all a good visit in an older but adequate home for a short term stay.
This house is in West Seattle, just over the bridge from Seattle. Perfect house close to everything - parks, restaurants, 10 minutes from downtown Seattle, has fenced in backyard for the pups. We couldn't have been happier - excellent kitchen if you want to cook, but why cook when u can walk to a delicious taco truck next to Lincoln Park - truly the best park/beach in Seattle. Main drag 5 minutes from this home has the best shops, bakeries, restaurants, liquor stores, grocery stores (which in themselves are phenomenal), whatever u need!
You will not be disappointed if u stay here! And our home owner was the best, also! If u like to stay in a home while on vacation, this home in West Seattle is the answer to ur prayers!
Our family had a wonderful stay. Jen is incredibly attentive, and her bungalow is a quaint getaway in busy Seattle. The home is walking distance to Lincoln Park and Colman salt water pool (great for kids), and a short drive to Alki Beach and the water taxi dock that goes to downtown Seattle. The house is fully stocked to prepare meals at home, and is in a quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. We will stay here again for future Seattle adventures!
Jen's bungalow is cute, cozy, and fully-stocked. The kitchen is fully equipped with nice pans and decent knives, and in the house you'll find everything from yoga mats to martini glasses. There is a big backyard and the neighborhood is fantastic - quiet but right next to fabulous Lincoln Park, and walking distance to the Vashon Island ferry. We absolutely recommend this for anyone looking to get out of a hotel room and into a real Seattle neighborhood. Jen is a very attentive owner who will take care of your every need. And the neighbors are nice too!
I loved my stay at Jen's bungalow! Every day I walked over to Lincoln Park and enjoyed the trails and the beach. The Junction area is just under a mile away. Be sure to visit Bakery Nouveau, it's absolutely amazing! I agree with all the other wonderful reviews. This is a lovely place to stay. If you are looking for a quiet retreat with excellent amenities (including super fast internet) this is the place to stay!
Charming Lincoln Park Bungalow
Just steps to West Seattle's Lincoln Park. “Lincoln Park is West Seattle’s major multi-purpose park – a nose-shaped bluff on Puget Sound just north of the Fauntleroy Ferry Terminal. Switchbacks on the north and gentle trails to the south connect a mile of seawalled, rocky beaches to a bluff of grassy forests and meadows with play and picnic areas galore.” Amazingly diverse for its size, Lincoln includes 4.6 miles of walking paths, 3.9 miles of bike trails, five picnic shelters, acres of play fields, and is also home to Historic Henry Coleman Pool. (An outdoor heated saltwater pool/bathhouse)
A comfortable 1/2 mile stroll to the Morgan Junction showcases a variety of restaurants, bars and locally owned grocer, West Seattle Thriftway. Coffee house gurus must not miss Cafe Ladro, one of Seattle's best coffee houses just a few blocks to the south.
Alaskan Junction, just 2 miles away, is the heart of West Seattle and also a major bus hub for public transportation. With it's myriad of eclectic shops, restaurants, bakeries, unique bars and the West Seattle Farmers Market.
A short scenic ride along Beach Drive leads you to the liveliness of all that Alki Beach has to offer. After a day of beach volleyball, rollerblading, paddle boarding, scuba diving, shopping, and numerous restaurants return to the solace of your Lincoln Beach bungalow.
Downtown is easily accessible by the ever popular King County Water Taxi that lands you on Seattle's famed waterfront (Alaskan Way) also close to Pike Place Market, The Stadiums, Arts and Shopping district.
West Seattle is not only the birthplace of this iconic city, but also allows you to enjoy our local flavor while reaping the rewards of accessibility to the Big City!
