wonderful villa experience
We had a wonderful experience staying at this property. The grounds were peaceful and inspiring, the property was clean and spacious and beautiful, and Francesco was a fantastic, helpful and gracious host. I highly recommend this property, especially if you like animals and open spaces away from the hustle of the city.
Large multi-room apartment with breathtaking views of Florence
Overall the place is fantastic. Beautiful views from both the bedrooms and the swimming pool. Quiet, peaceful setting, kind and warm proprietors and comfortable area both in and out of the villa. I believe we picked one of the hottest weeks to spend here so the lack of air conditioning was especially hard to bear but as things cooled off toward the end of the week, we quickly forgot about the first couple of nights. We would definitely book here again if and when we get the chance.
The apartment is beautiful. The 17th century accommodation offer charm with modern comforts. The bed was comfortable, the water hot, the kitchen well equipped, the pool patio offered beautiful views of Florence, and the host accommodating.
We were just sharing with our family today that the best meal we enjoyed in Italy was prepared by Teresa. We highly recommend booking a meal with Francesco and Teresa for a true authentic Italian meal with the freshest of ingredients!
We enjoyed a walk in the olive groves and drinking our coffee on the patio.
We spent much of our time in Florence, which involved walking down to the bus station (~10/15 mins) and a bus ride to the central train station (~20/25 mins) on bus line 2 or bus line 28 that takes you just outside of the center.
We had a lovely stay!
Overall nice and comfortable place. Grounds are very nice. The hosts are friendly and helpful. The place is a little away from Florence, so a car is useful, especially if you plan to explore Tuscany .if you plan to walk it is steep uphill and a hike!
We had some hot water problems. Which is why I am giving 4 and not 5 stars.
I would go again.
We had a great time with our family (7) at your place. We never had such a complete, clean appartement on such a beautiful location. We love the diner we had the last evening, and we will try to prepare it at out home 🍴🍷. Thanks for your hospitality. We hope to come again in future.
Excellent views and very friendly
The accommodation, hills, pool, owners, olive oil and position are all great. Its a very relaxing place to stay with easy access to the city but without all the stress of the city. Have stayed at the property 3 times over the past 6 years and always loved it. I will be going back again.
Castello is an area of great historical importance. Several Renaissance villas are located within walking distance from the apartment. The Villa Reale and Villa Petraia, both belonging to the Medici family, are famous for their architecture and as striking examples of Italian formal gardens. Villa Petraia was also home to king Vittorio Emanuele II, who summered in Castello when Florence became the capital of Italy in 1865. Further down the road from Villa Petraia, you’ll see Villa Bel Riposo. Carlo Lorenzi Collodi, the author of Pinocchio lived here while he was writing this popular story. All the characters in Pinocchio were drawn from real persons living in and around Castello. Castello is an area of great natural beauty. Narrow roads wind along ancient stone walls up the mountainside. Marvel at the rustic farm houses and splendid villas that sit amongst acres of silver-leafed olive trees. Guests are invited to stroll throughout the Castello apartment's olive grove. Other Activities: Cooking classes, Dinners, Bikes.
