About Chau Nguyen
Chau (like Jo but with ‘ch’ sound) Nguyen and her family moved to Montana in 1996 looking for a slower pace and a higher quality lifestyle. They lived in the Shields Valley area for the first 6 years but later moved to Livingston to be closer to the town activities and more involved with the community. When the children were little, Chau was an at home mom and a potter. Once her kids started school Chau was able to have more time teaching art classes at the non profit Livingston Center for Art and Culture (LCAC) and resumed her career as a business analyst at a local online printing company, PrintingForLess. In 2013, Chau semi retired from the corporate world to manage her Red House rental and to be a full time jewelry artist. Chau's hobbies are traveling, cooking with friends and reading. Nowadays, Chau enjoys taking care of the Red House, provides enjoyment for her guests and spending more time honing her skills in metal smithing and enameling for her jewelry. Chau loves traveling and cooking with her friends. If you have questions about Livingston, Montana and/or your stay here, Chau would be happy to speak to you.
Chau Nguyen purchased this House in 2005
Why Chau Nguyen chose Livingston
We purchased the Red House as an investment rental and were leasing it on a yearly term. We love old homes with their unique character & have put lots of time, work & updates to the home. Recently, we decided to offer it as a short term vacation rental so we can share one of “the last best places” with more guests. The house is very comfortable, spacious and inviting.
What makes this House unique
Livingston is a friendly town with a wonderful small home town feel where we all watch out and help each other. There are plenty of outdoor guide services available for those who want to fly fish or hike and need a hand. Also great rafting and floating opportunities. The Red House is well furnished and comfortable with all amenities of home. Great large shady back yard for relaxing and sharing an outdoor meal with your family & friends. Convenient location - easy walking distance to grocery, park, river, movie theatre and local downtown eateries. You can choose to either get away from it all or immerse yourself in outdoor adventures & festivals. Outdoor enthusiasts, nature lovers, artists and writers, this place is your home!

Perfect location, clean and quiet!
My family was in Livingston for my daughters wedding. We rented two homes and this Red House was perfect. Hannah met me at the house and could not have been more helpful. The house was immaculate, the carpet was a nice touch and made the house feel warm and cozy. My nephew was on crutches so the downstairs bedroom/bathroom was perfect. The upstairs large bedroom was like an apartment! While we didn't use the kitchen, it was huge and lots of counter space - along with everything you could possibly need. We'd definitely recommend this house!
We loved this house.
What a wonderful and comfortable place to stay. This home is beautifully decorated and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything you might need. Since we like to cook while on vacation, that is very much appreciated. Love that you have all the basics in the kitchen so that we didn’t have to buy things that we would only
use a small amount of—like olive oil and spices. Also provided soap, shampoo, toilet paper and paper towels. So nice not to have to go buy all of those things. Would highly recommend this property!
Thank you Karleen for staying with us for your daughter’s wedding. I’m glad you found our house comfortable with all the comforts and convenience of home. We aim to please. Looking forward to your next visit with us!
Very well equipped and pleasantly decorated
Stayed late October 2017. We were personally met by the owner who walked us through the house and chatted with us about the local attractions, etc. The house has about any kind of appliance or kitchen implement you could want, with a very large and well organized kitchen, a beautiful and well-furnished dining and living room suite, and three private bed rooms - two of which have their own attached bathrooms. Heating was needed at this time of year, and was more than adequately available throughout the house. The neighborhood is quiet and pleasant.
Perfect house for a mini-family reunion weekend
Our extended family of eight (five adults, two teenagers, and a youngster) spent the weekend in the Red House, and it was perfect in every way. We had plenty of room for everyone, and it was quite comfortable. We spent Saturday night around the dinner table playing card games and just having a blast. The house was just what we needed. And Chau is a wonderful host. Stay here - you will love it!
Perfect lodging in lovely Livingston!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in lovely Red House! The property is spacious and very comfortable, as well as beautifully decorated in a style that honors the historic character of the house while reflecting the artistic taste of the owner. Unlike most vacation rentals, this house is fully stocked with everything in the kitchen to cook meals for a family. Red House is perfectly located for exploring Livingston, Bozeman (Museum of the Rockies and Wild Crumb bakery are musts!), Yellowstone NP and the surrounding beauty spots such as Paradise Valley and Big Sky/Gallatin. Chau was super friendly and helpful, steering us to good dining options and local sights. Can't recommend this place highly enough; thanks for opening your beautiful home to visitors!
