About the property

Condo, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Our condo is located on the slope side of the Axtel condominiums which is the closest building to the Silver Queen and Red Lady Express lifts. You are centrally located to the lifts, shops, restaurants and the ski school.

Our condo has three bedrooms and two full baths. The living room and master bedroom open up to a large deck overlooking the ski lifts with incredible views. The master bedroom is located on the main floor and has a king size bed. The living room is small but cozy. The other two bedrooms are located upstairs. The second bedroom has a twin over queen bunk bed and the third bedroom has two twin beds. There are common laundry facilities and a shared hot tub on the ground floor of the building.

Note, the Axtel building does not have an elevator. If stairs are an issue, we recommend the Elevation Hotel which is right next door.

What makes this condo unique

We bought our condo because of the location. We needed the convenience of having the ski school right next door when the kids were younger. When the lifts closed, we could sit on the deck while the kids were out playing in the snow right below the deck. Now that the kids are teenagers, they can walk out the front door and go skiing . We don't have to worry about them getting to the base area and storing skis etc. The ski closet is right at slopeside.

Fantastic location!

Owner was very helpful and we had a great time! We would stay there again. Common space is small but we really weren’t in unit much as we were there to ski all day. It has a ski closet at the bottom on the stairs which was a big plus! It does have a lot of stairs so may not be a good place for people who are challenged by lots of stairs.

Amazing Location. True ski in ski out.

We stayed in this condo with our family of 6 for 5 days in January. The location of this condo is amazing - better than we could have imagined. It is as close to the base as you can be. The bedrooms are nice size. The family room and kitchen are small, but it worked fine for us. Crested Butte is a fantastic mountain to ski. Everything is close to this condo, including the transportation center with free buses to lots of places. The town of Crested Butte is a short bus ride away. We would stay here again.

Great Location!

We just returned from a long weekend at CB. If you want ski-in/ski-out, this is an awesome location. We loved the large deck to hang out after a long day of skiing and having the ski closet right at slope level was so convenient. We also enjoyed the wood-burning fireplace. The living room is small but was not a big deal for us. We will definitely be back because we loved the location.

very little common space

Stayed 4 adults 2 kids thanksgiving week. Nice balcony but is in the shade from about 10am on in the winter, nice size bedrooms. Closet space half full of old furniture and tvs made it hard to hang/dry gear. Common space very tight. Sitting area literally 4ftx8ft floorspace excluding the footprint of the small loveseat/couch that would seat 2 comfortably and 3 shoulder to shoulder. kitchen good for 2 not 6. Plan to base entirely out of each bedroom as common space is more suited for 2 people not 6. 6 adults in this unit would be tight for a summer stay and IMO uncomfortable for a winter stay. Owners very nice and accommodating, just hard to tell from the description how no existent the common space is in this unit. Family of four would be fine in this unit as you could use one of the bedrooms to spread your stuff out. Back and forth to the car is the equivalent of climbing 4 stories and is a mix of sloped parking lot, outside stairs, 150 ft 3% grade ski slope near the bunny hill, then 2 stories of indoor/outdoor stairs, so its a bit of a haul for kids or seniors. Rates are very reasonable for the bedroom space and LOCATION

Owner's Response: Our condo is for guests that are looking for the best location on the mountain. It does not have a large kitchen or great room. It has a pub table with chairs, 3 bar stools and a fold-down counter for additional eating space. The sofa is a pottery barn leather sleeper sofa. We prefer to have a detailed conversation on the phone with a guest prior to the guest booking the unit so that we can discuss the pros and cons of our condo. If we decide it isn't a match, we provide recommendations that have larger living rooms such as Mountaineer Square or The Plaza. Unfortunately, this booking happened quickly without a detailed conversation. We do have plenty of repeat guests of 6 where they are fine with the full size bedrooms and don't mind the smaller living space. They are repeat guests because they want the location and it is the best price for the location. In regards to gear storage, we have a ski closet at slope level where the gear should be stored before walking up the steps to the unit. A ski closet key is provided at check-in. The parking lot is the closest lot to the ski lifts. Upon arrival, the ski patrol wants you to use the steps and not walk on the slope. The Axtel building has steps on the back side of the building that you walk up and then walk around to our steps. You can also walk through the building during day time hours. There isn't any need to go back to the parking lot during your stay if you use the town shuttle. We have a new housekeeper that cleaned out the unnecessary items in the closets.

We were a party of six for a long weekend of mountain biking ,hiking and outdoor enjoyment. The place was awesome! Totally suited our needs and with incredible views! There was an outside concert at the base and we had the best seats on our 3rd floor patio deck with great views and no hassle with the crowds. The place is centrally located to everything on the mountain and the free shuttle service to town.

The price was very reasonable - especially for six people. We will definitely be back in the winter as it is the closest ski in - ski out on the mountain! Great place!
