About the property

3 bedrooms each with ensuite bath with spectacular eastern peninsula views

Sand Bay Shore Villa is well suited for a large family, three or four couples vacationing together, or as a retreat for a writing/hobby/book group. With a gourmet kitchen, large outdoor gas grill, patios, screen porch, 2 fieldstone fireplaces, outdoor firepit and more there are plenty of cozy places to enjoy a home cooked meal, sip a glass of wine, or toast marshmallows. You might choose to refresh with an early morning run down the cedar lined lane and an invigorating outdoor shower overlooking the lake, or just peacefully relax in the comfy leather lounge chairs and watch the sunrise. The best of both worlds awaits you in this peaceful retreat that is only three miles from the hustle/bustle of the unique shops, galleries, and restaurants of Door County, Wisconsin. Golfing, charter fishing, bike friendly roads, and an abundance of outdoor activities are set in this Niagara Escarpment area with significant geological features. Lifelong learners might sign up for classes, Peninsula Art School classes, Savory Spoon cooking classes, or nature classes at Newport or Peninsula Parks. Wifi and cable TV included.

What makes this house unique

The Northern Lights, the moonrise, a campfire with the sounds of the lake at night or the glory of the sunrise, deer at the water's edge, or taking a cool swim in the heat of a summer day are unique benefits to this peaceful home.

Peaceful home on Lake Michigan

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful home to stay in. My family all enjoyed the great view of the lake and secluded peaceful setting. The teens in my family liked the separate and private space above the garage. Thanks for the use of your lovely home.

Abolutely Breathtaking!

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed in a lot of very nice VRBO properties, and I have to say that this is by far my favorite. What a gorgeous home! It had everything that we could have asked for and then some. We had a group of 7 ladies for a family weekend, and we hardly wanted to leave the house! Everything in the home was very high quality, and no amenity was missed. The family had so many fun treasures throughout the home. We enjoyed reading about the family history and seeing photos on the walls. By far the best thing was the amazing view of the lake. Each morning we sat in front of the huge windows and listened to the water for hours, getting up early so we could see the sunrise.

One of the most fun things was the outdoor shower. We used it every morning we were there! The house is nestled back in teh woods on a very private dead-end road. We felt like we had our own little private paradise. It was 10 minutes or less to downtown Sister Bay, and not far from anywhere we wanted to be. But after the hustle and bustle of the day, we got to retreat back to this little paradise in the woods and sit out by the lake next to the fire and just relax.

The house was equipped with a ton of DVD's, lots of games, a huge TV, and other electronics, but we never turned them on. We had so much fun just enjoying each others' company.

This house won't disappoint. We loved everything about it and can't wait to come back! I wish there were more than 5 stars to give out!

Oak Park

Ideal for our family reunion of 3 couples providing either privacy or togetherness as desired.

  • 5 of 5

Wow! The accommodations and amenities were beyond our expectations and the location exceptional. Yes, a bit off the beaten track but well worth it as far as our group was concerned besides it provided the opportunity to enjoy the scenic and beautiful drives to all the sites and sounds the county has to offer. An added bonus was Ginny's willingness to identify some of her favorite spots to visit. All in all, this is definitely a 5 star property. Hope we have the opportunity to stay there again.

Beautiful, quiet retreat

  • 5 of 5

This is an amazing place. Each room is far enough away from the others to ensure privacy but there are enough common spaces to let everyone spend time together. The furniture is comfortable and well cared for and the house itself is magnificent. Some of the appliances were older, but everything was in good working order. There are adorable little touches all around the house. There are games, dvds, and even some kids toys. My daughter absolutely loved the stuffed puppy that was there. The views of the lake are hypnotic.

The house itself is nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the Peninsula, offering a lovely, quiet retreat. Our favorite part about the house (besides the water views): it gets very, very dark and is away from light pollution. On a clear night, turn off the lights in the house, sit outside in the dark, and behold the magnificent stars. You can even see the galaxy. Simply stunning.
