Overview

About the property

Small Private Cabin with 1 Queen Bedroom and an additional Queen Bed Loft.

Our Private Wood Cabin is nestled in the woods with its own private driveway and creek. It has all of the modern amenities and luxuries of modern day living, and is nice and cozy for up to 5 people. There is one private bedroom, and a loft bedroom both with queen beds, as well an oversized sectional couch with a chaise. All of the furnishings and inside of the cabin are new and comfortable.

The cabin is located approximately 10 miles from the South side Smith Mountain Lake by car, and a couple minutes walk to the Pigg River for some Bass fishing (although you will have to bring your own pole).

We are situated on our own 12 acres that is attached to over 180 acres of untouched forest, so usually is plenty of wildlife and beautiful scenery no matter what time of year you visit.

If you want to get away from it all, sit back, relax, and enjoy nature, this is the cabin for you! We are always available if you have any questions.

Beautiful Cabin in the Hollow

  • 5 of 5

I absolutely enjoyed staying in this little cabin. As promised, it is off the beaten path -- the owner worked hard to be very clear on the driving directions, landmarks, etc. but even with that it was hard to see the little road. Still I felt so safe at this little cabin hidden in the country, in the woods and next to a stream -- so peaceful and beautiful!

Great family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the cabin for 5 days in August with our kids and 2 dogs. It was perfect for us! It has such cute decor and was stocked with everything we needed. We spent the days playing in the creek behind the cabin and sitting outside. My husband and son caught a few fish in the creek while me, my daughter and my dogs walked thru the creek. Being on 12 acres was perfect because there were no distractions for the kids and dogs and they could just be free. We brought our boat and took it up to Smith Mountain Lake for the day twice. The lake was just awesome. Perfect temperature and clean water. We stopped to eat at Lumpkin's Marina and it was the perfect local place. It was the first vacation we have taken where we actually felt rested at the end of it. It was a great place for us to be a family. There isn't a lot to do around the area, but it was what we were expecting and we had no problem with it. The only recommendations I would make would be to maybe have a few more board games and DVD's for rainy days and I would move the second TV to the downstairs bedroom because at night before bed (the only time we really watched it) we were battling each other with the TV sounds because you can hear both with the open loft. Otherwise I would highly recommend this cabin and definitely will make a trip again!

Awesome remote cabin

  • 5 of 5

The secluded cabin was exactly what we wanted and expected! We used the cabin as a base to go do activities at Smith Mountan Lake and hiking to McAfee Knob near Roanoke. Loved having the stream at the edge of the property! A couple of suggestions would be having an outdoor grill available as the fire pit is difficult to get the needed grilling temp; and provide better quality trash bags. The bags provided split with only the slightest bit of weight and pressure and since the trash needs to be hauled in our vehicle to the nearby dumping bins, it would be better to have bags that hold up to the hauling. Otherwise, it was a fantastic stay!

We do welcome pets to our home, but we will need proof that your pet is flea free before they can stay. The proof can be a letter from at veterinarian that states that the pet is on medication for fleas, and is flea free. I am sorry if this is an inconvenience, but we want all guests to have a pleasurable stay in a flea free home.
If it is found that you have a pet that was not registered, and the pet fee was not paid, you will be charged the pet fee, and responsible for any flea's found after your stay (as they can live months before hatching).
