About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6

Welcome to our “little piece of heaven”!

You will find our summer home situated in historic Granville Ferry, overlooking Canada’s oldest community, Annapolis Royal. We share our special place for a few weeks each summer with travellers to the Annapolis Valley.

Holy Trinity Anglican Church was built in 1863. We took possession in January 2007 and soon began renovations to create our summer home.

This charming former church has been converted to a beautiful, spacious 3-bedroom, 2½ bath, modern cottage with all of the conveniences. The master bedroom includes an ensuite. Each bedroom has a beautiful view of Annapolis Royal. There is a laundry room on the bedroom level.

The well-equipped kitchen is a great entertaining area! There is a barbeque out back to compliment what is being cooked in the kitchen.

While not out exploring the historic sites, North America’s only tidal generating station, and wineries (just to give a few suggestions), there is TV, ping-pong table, books, puzzles and board games for your enjoyment. You may choose to sit out front with a glass of wine watching the tides as they move through their 27-foot change from high tide to low tide. At low tide you can hit the shore to see what treasures you can find!

Annapolis Royal is an easy 2 km walk or drive and we have a list of recommendations of places to visit, things to do, and restaurants to enjoy waiting for you when you arrive.

This season, we are offering the serene Nova Scotia lifestyle during the most beautiful season in the Annapolis Valley. For more information please contact us.

Heaven!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was absolutely fantastic. "The church" was the best vacation rental we ever had, and we had quite a lot in recent years.

After one week still speechless about every single detail. Everything has got so much style.

We will never forget the first breathtaking impression when we entered THE CHURCH. I told my children beforehand that we are in a LITTLE former church. Their reaction was great: Daddy, you said a little former church - this place is pretty far from being small, which was exactly what we were thinking.

The area is great. We have truly spent a week in a heaven-like building in wonderful surroundings.

Beautiful place inside and out. So tastefully decorated.

  • 5 of 5

This beautifully renovated church sits right outside of Annapolis Royal, one of my favourite towns in Nova Scotia. It is immaculately kept and has all the amenities you would want. And such interesting and tasteful decorating. Enjoy the ambience.

Former church in Granville Ferry

  • 5 of 5

The three of us enjoyed this place very much! The building itself is charming, the inside artwork and decor is interesting (especially the Singer sewing machine, the organ pipes, and the pew seats), and we appreciated that other travelers (?) left several items behind in the fridge, as we also did when we left. It was extremely clean and obviously well cared for. A great place to stay!

Great Summer Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I rented this church for a six week Summer vacation. Located in the village of Granville Ferry, we had a perfect view of the ever changing Annapolis Basin through the church windows all day long. Only 5 minutes from downtown Annapolis Royal, we found the church to be both comfortable and very well equipped. We had plenty of room to spread out in the variety of living spaces and the well appointed kitchen was much appreciated when we entertained guests. Complete laundry facilities were also available for our use. Overall, this was a great place to stay and I would highly recommend it.
