About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6

Welcome to our “little piece of heaven”!

You will find our summer home situated in historic Granville Ferry, overlooking Canada’s oldest community, Annapolis Royal. We share our special place for a few weeks each summer with travellers to the Annapolis Valley.

Holy Trinity Anglican Church was built in 1863. We took possession in January 2007 and soon began renovations to create our summer home.

This charming former church has been converted to a beautiful, spacious 3-bedroom, 2½ bath, modern cottage with all of the conveniences. The master bedroom includes an ensuite. Each bedroom has a beautiful view of Annapolis Royal. There is a laundry room on the bedroom level.

The well-equipped kitchen is a great entertaining area! There is a barbeque out back to compliment what is being cooked in the kitchen.

While not out exploring the historic sites, North America’s only tidal generating station, and wineries (just to give a few suggestions), there is TV, ping-pong table, books, puzzles and board games for your enjoyment. You may choose to sit out front with a glass of wine watching the tides as they move through their 27-foot change from high tide to low tide. At low tide you can hit the shore to see what treasures you can find!

Annapolis Royal is an easy 2 km walk or drive and we have a list of recommendations of places to visit, things to do, and restaurants to enjoy waiting for you when you arrive.

This season, we are offering the serene Nova Scotia lifestyle during the most beautiful season in the Annapolis Valley. For more information please contact us.

Great Summer Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I rented this church for a six week Summer vacation. Located in the village of Granville Ferry, we had a perfect view of the ever changing Annapolis Basin through the church windows all day long. Only 5 minutes from downtown Annapolis Royal, we found the church to be both comfortable and very well equipped. We had plenty of room to spread out in the variety of living spaces and the well appointed kitchen was much appreciated when we entertained guests. Complete laundry facilities were also available for our use. Overall, this was a great place to stay and I would highly recommend it.

Absolutely idyllic place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

This home could not have been better suited for a vacation rental. The renovated church is beautifully decorated and upgraded. The view from the living room and kitchen was stunning and we were centrally located to various points of interest. We didn't want to leave!

Comfortable, roomy, and fun place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the church. It was spacious, with a very nice kitchen and eating area. It was very nicely furnished and decorated, and even had a ping pong table and crockinole board. The owners provided some great ideas on things to do and see in the area, and provided some excellent homemade jam. We have stayed in quite a few places, but this was definitely one of our favorites.

Love the Church!

  • 5 of 5

The Church is really First Class! It was very comfortable and warm inside as the days were getting a bit colder.

We cooked at home. Everything that we needed in terms of dinnerware, utensils, glasses, pots and pans and cutlery was provided.

We enjoyed some very competitive games of ping pong. The view out the front window of Annapolis Royal and the Annapolis River was spectacular.

The neighborhood was very conducive to walking and it is a 3 minute drive to the cute little town of Annapolis Royal. We appreciated all the helpful suggestions given to us by Anne, the Owner.

We do recommend The Church without reservation and give it a strong Five Stars!

We look forward to our next visit!

What a transformation!

  • 5 of 5

From a place of worshiping heaven to a place of being in heaven, this ranks up with some of the best VRBOs we have rented. The appointments in the transformation are wonderful. There is enough whimsy in the decor to not be serious. There were four of us traveling, three women and my husband. It was perfect for us not only for the location close to Annapolis Royal but also as an accommodation. Three nights was not enough.

Heavenly Home and Setting

  • 5 of 5

The renovated church provided the perfect backdrop for a wonderful week in the Annapolis Royal area. The home is decorated so tastefully--honoring the home's past as an Anglican church from long ago but adding the modern conveniences that one would expect in a fine home, as well as artistic touches. While the pictures of the home on the internet are accurate, the home is even more impressive in person. The home provides the perfect view of Annapolis Royal from the living room, kitchen and bedrooms. The owners were easy to deal with and provided the little extras that made the rental feel like home--a well stocked kitchen with good utensils and dishes, a coffee pot that had a coffee grinder, as well as a french press coffee pot. The town and surrounding area provided many enjoyable outings. The farmers' market on Saturday was a great treat with fresh foods, fish, as well as arts and crafts. The people we met in Annapolis Royal were friendly and seemed to appreciate having visitors and took pride in talking about their town. The historic gardens were also well worth visiting. In short, it was a great trip and this home contributed greatly to the success of the trip.
