We loved our condo!
Things we loved most:
1. Beachfront! Morning coffee, turtles, seals...and it’s all yours! No one around!
2. Pool! Perfect for after dinner and it’s all yours, no one uses it!
3. Safe environment with a manager on site and a gate.
4. Laundry room with a book library! Perfect!
Things we had a hard time with:
1. Not many places to eat out close by. Country Cafe had the best breakfast.
2. The town is not pretty...see homeless on the streets and run down homes.
3. I wish the unit was updated more, fresh lighter paint and a good cleaning of furniture.
4. Wish the laundry room had a coin exchange machine and may be a dvd library.
We loved the condo's grounds and beautiful ocean front location , but were disappointed in the condition. The orange walls and inadequate lighting of the condo created a dark environment even during the sunny Hawaiian daylight hours. Missing light bulbs and dark lamp shades added to the dreariness. The garbage disposal was not functional the entire month.
Well maintained waterfront gem!
We enjoyed our stay at Maili cove. We had our 13yr old son and 18month old daughter so really enjoyed the fenced/gated grounds for her but also the ocean area steps away for our son. Less than half the units were in use so was very quiet and mostly had the run of the place. Our unit was nicely set up and had the basic utensils and cooking equipment. Our only negatives were that the highway could be noisy with ambulances and traffic, we tried to keep the windows and doors closed toward the highway and that helped allot. Other than that the weekends were busier as more people came in to visit permanent residents, the house rules seeming to go to the wayside during these times.
When my husband and I looked for a place to stay on Oahu, we searched for a place that would give us a relaxed quiet stay, and that is what we got at Maili Cove. We nearly had the pool and the beach to our selves. Our condo was clean and nicely decorated. Everything we needed was there. The condo, being on the ground floor, gave us easy access to the pool, beach and BBQ. We really enjoyed our stay here and have no complaints (other then it just off a busy street....so you just have tune out the traffic sound). Mahalo Maili Cove!
We usually stay at the Hawaiian Princess which is closer to Makaha, but we will be staying here from now on!
Parking, garbage and laundry were only steps away from our door, being on the ground floor level is amazing. The room is clean, nicely decorated, wifi worked great, tv worked great, kitchen was just what we needed, and there were no bugs anywhere! Being a tropical place there are usually ants or cockroaches around, but we didn't see a single one. The master bed was very comfortable, so was the fold out bed.
We did a couple fixes, fixed the sliding screen door and the living room ceiling fan, now they both work perfectly. We plan on coming back in November so we view it as an investment.
The pool was amazing! I was in the pool everyday for at least 4 hours. Most days my husband and I were in the pool alone, we actually had the whole pool area to ourselves most days. You can view the ocean from the patio and from the pool. The pool is heated, which is so nice, a lot of other places don't heat their pools.
The BBQs are easy to get to and work great.
We didn't hear any street noise at all when the air conditioner was on. If you don't have it on, you hear basic street noise, just like you would in any other city in the world.
The area has some great places to eat and you can always find street vendors selling amazing dishes.
This is our new favorite place to stay.
I would not recommend this place for partiers or loud children. There are very strict rules by the pool, so people who like to drink and party by the pool, or kids that run and scream a lot, I would not suggest this place.
For my husband and I, these rules are perfect, because we like to have quit by the pool.
Oahu's west side
good stay, outdated furniture, surrounding town was not picturesque, but good place to rest your head and beach access was nice. Waves are pretty rough, pool was salt water and nice.
good stay if you want to save some money.
