Motel 6 on the water

  • 1 of 5

The grounds are ok, but the unit is not. Dated furniture, no new towels during stay, no servicing of the room during 6 day stay. Fan and air conditioning not working. A parking fee of $25 per day was added when we checked in. I sent an email to Homeaway about the no towel replacement and never received a response. Look elsewhere on Kauai for something better and with the usual room services of a hotel and something cheaper (after all the add on charges).

Owner is cheap and non-responsive, leading to a negative vacation experience.

  • 2 of 5

Property and room are ok. Just a basic hotel room. Looks like a hotel, feels like a hotel, and in all respects is a hotel EXCEPT the owner has NOT made arrangements with front desk people to provide house-keeping services. No towels get refreshed. No soap/toile-paper gets replenished.

THE WORST PART IS NO ONE TELLS YOU THIS. NOT THE CHEAP OWNER, NOR THE HOTEL FRONT DESK.

And when I called/emailed the owner second day (of our 9 day stay) she did not bother to even respond.

The front desk people would charge owners only a few dollars a day to provide house-keeping. Owner could easily add that on to the nightly room charge. But owner of this unit has not made that arrangement (hotel people did not like her either).

VERY DISSAPOINTING EXPERIENCE WITH THIS OWNER. stay in another room with someone else and you'll be happy at this location.

Nice comfortable secluded resort

  • 4 of 5

Resort like feel, but very low key!

We Loved the property. I Would look for another room with a larger bed next time.

The room has only double beds, not queens. So if you're not used to the small bed, you may be sleeping separate from your spouse. A bit of a bummer for your romantic getaway.

Myself and my three companions felt like we found a jewel in paradise upon arrival to the Kauai Beach Resort. We absolutely loved the property, amenities and wish we could have stayed longer. Will most definitely be returning customers. Thank you!!

Short stay in March

  • 4 of 5

Our room was very nice and there was a distant view of waves breaking. For more than a short stay, you'll probably need a car if you want to ocean swim, snorkel or tour on your own. Also, bring extra toilet paper, coffee, and coffee cups. We had to purchase Styrofoam coffee cups at the gift shop. The restaurants, all three of them, serve good food and there was great entertainment every evening. The resort has over 300 rooms, but nothing ever seemed crowded. The concierge arranged for a river boat trip to the famous Fern Grotto, followed by a visit to the Smith botanical garden. A beautiful and quiet afternoon activity.

Excellent ocean front location. Well managed by friendly, professional staff.

  • 4 of 5

All expectations were met. Miles of walkable beach to start the day. An excellent pool area to swim, play, rest in the sun or shade. With our suite equipped with a refrigerator and microwave we were able to have breakfast in our room but an excellent restaurant with buffet is available. Good bar and dining room for evening entertainment and meals. Coffee shop is only disappointment. Great location on island for touring, exploring and shopping - convenient to the airport but very peaceful for window open, A/C free sleeping.
