About the property

Beautiful Quiet Home in Halifax/ Dartmouth

We are located in the upscale neighbourhood of Crichton Park in Dartmouth close to all amenities. Lake Banook and Shubie Park as well as Mic Mac Mall are a 5 minute walk. 10 mins drive to downtown.

Our home is a fairly unique space. It has been lovingly landscaped with slate front entrance and pathways, a very private courtyard of granite with a waterfall, fire-pit and organic gardens that feature espalier honey crisp apples, grapes, pear, cherry and peach trees. The peaches start in mid August to mid September and the apples are harvested in the fall. Bing Cherries come in early July as well as Blueberries and Stawberries throughout the summer. There is also a vegetable garden that has snap peas, lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers. There is a master bedroom with a king bed and a studio room with a double and 2 rooms with twin beds. Your host Steve McCall, a 25 year veteran of Massage Therapy owns and operates the Neuromuscular Treatment Center in the downstairs of the home. The clinic will remain in operation during certain weeks throughout the summer as clients enter and exit through a separate entrance from the upstairs. Steve would be happy to help you with any rehabilitation or pain relief needs while you are here. There are 2 driveways and free parking everywhere. We have high speed internet/ wifi and big screen TV with Netflix and Cable TV.

Guests will, have privacy and access to the main floor of the home and full use of the gardens and produce as available. Guests also have access to the downstairs laundry room and second washroom as needed.

We are presently only renting on a weekly basis. We plan to be present on Sundays after cleaning to introduce guests to the space and answer any questions. Steve will be working in the downstairs clinic by appointment on certain days and weeks not yet defined. We plan to spend a great deal of time in the countryside this summer but will periodically be keeping up the garden.

This is a quiet upscale neighbourhood with a great school down the street and friendly neighbours who respect privacy. We are closer to downtown Halifax than many places on the Halifax peninsula and can get downtown in 10 mins by car. Dartmouth is the 'City Of Lakes' and so there are many places to cool off of walk within nature. It is a lovely 15 minute walk past lakes and Sullivans Duck pond to the Dartmouth Ferry Terminal / Farmers market/ high quality restaurants. We often enjoy taking the ferry across the harbour to the downtown Hali Halifax. If you are more inclined to Ocean beaches, Cow Bay is 15 mins and Larencetown of Martinique beaches are approximately 30 minutes drive. There is a lovely picturesque fishing village / boardwalk and beach called East Passage within 10 mins drive.

There are bus stops at the bottom of the hill and at Mic Mac Mall which is a 5 min walk. If our bikes are here guests have access to their use or you can rent a bike from 'The Bike Peddler' on Portland St. We hope to make your stay enjoyable and stress free! :)
