Great river spot for family and friends!
The pictures don't do this property justice! The house itself is similar to other houses we have rented along the Russian River, with multiple levels and bedrooms, but the amenities are all updated.
The river is just down from the property and they have a kayak, row boat, and intertubes, you will see other people on the river but its all your beach. Nice to come up to the house to take a break from the sun and in the evenings we bbq'd and cooked in the kitchen with awesome farmhouse sink, gas stove and full fridge. I could easily see having other relatives up here for Thanksgiving.
There is cable tv, plenty of books and games, and plenty of places to hang out for solo time.
I would recommend kayaking with El Rio, they take you 10-15 miles up river and its incredibly relaxing.
The hosts are great, everything was easy to figure out, the heater, locks etc. They also are generous with the kitchen items, it was nice to not have to bring olive oil etc.
Its also close to town if you need to run to the store for anything or have friends over that live nearby.
The place was perfect. Everything you could want is there for river use and /or cooking and barbecuing. There were six of us and the place accommodated us all well. Had a hard time finding the place. South Fitch turns in to north Fitch so just keep going when you think the number isn't right. We'll be back!
We've stayed in this cabin for years and ALWAYS love returning. It meets all our needs. A very peaceful and beautiful location.
Oh the River! Oh the Deck! Oh the lovely lovely place
Tasteful, whimisical art and structural details to this house. Large deck, lovely meditative fountain heard in the back. We loved this place and will be back. We stayed in the top portion of the house, although we could have had another family easily, with the large bedroom and bath on the floor below. Kitchen has all you need and more. Beds super comfy with high quality linens. Such a treat.
What a great place to stay. such fun!!
We had a little trouble finding the house because we confused South Fitch Mt. with North Fitch Mountain. Fabulous outdoor space. Grill, lounges, comfortable chairs and views. Room and bath down were a little dark but so very private and cool on a warm day.
House is quaint but has everything. We couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more.
good location but disappointed
FIrst off, the decks are wonderful and the view is gorgeous. We used it a good bit as it was difficult to stay inside.
We did arrive on a 100 degree day. Without air conditioning and with windows on only one side, the lower bedroom was not usable. Squeezing 4 adults and a baby upstairs was difficult, especially as there are no dressers and minimal space to leave suitcases in the bedroom-- we kept them all in the living room.
We expected the kitchen to be small in a quaint space like this. We did not expect that the fridge would only have two available shelves , minimal space in the freezer, and no shelf space. The owners did offer that we could eat any of the food they had.
The owners were responsive to us-- sending an exterminator after we found a mouse. Still, the next day we found mouse droppings near the baby which undermined the experience, so it seems you just can't keep critters out of the house.
The owners seem sincere and I expect this will be a reasonable spot after some fixing up and decluttering.
Located just 2.75 miles from town this home sits at the apex of Fitch Mountain. Walkers and runners are seen running from dawn to dusk, bicyclists ride the hill all times of the year. Walk the circumferencee of the mountain for a good and healthy workout. Other Activities: canoeing, Kayaking, Shelling, Wildlife Viewing, Shopping
