Fantastic Family Reunion Location

  • 5 of 5

Our extended family (16 adults/2 children) had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful property. We had 12 in the main lodge and 6 in the chalet. We were impressed at how everything was very clean and maintained. We enjoyed the lake (rented the pontoon boat from Vicky for 3 days), the fire pit/gazebo/shelter at the water's edge and took multiple trips to the Smoky Mountains to hike along with a whitewater rafting trip to Newport. The lighted walkways, the music/stereo and the tiki torches and grille at the gazebo all were pluses. We didn't use the converted garage/game room very much, but it was great that it was there in case we ran out of things to do. The kids had both a trampoline and a very nice play structure to keep themselves entertained outside. The only negative we had was that there was not enough seating at the lodge to accommodate our entire family for dinner (looks like there is room for a much larger table). We highly recommend this place for any large family vacation!

It's all here; relaxation and endless activity.Great for a large

  • 5 of 5

Great for a large group/family. Vicky, the property manager, was very responsive throughout our stay in handling our many questions. Our somewhat spoiled grandones thought the bunk beds could have been more comfortable, but except for one broken box spring frame, the beds were more than adequate. The gazebo/sitting area down near the lake was a particular favorite, and the fire pit really added to the charm. Our three children and their families enjoyed hiking to the top of a mountain near Gatlinburg; people watching there; Smokies minor league baseball game; a good fitness gym in Sevierville; Bush's Beans museum and gift store; Pontooning/Tubeing/swimming/fishing; antiquing in several towns; sleeping in; playing card/dominos and the many TVs in the Lodge and Chalet. Everyone was "use up" by the end of the day, so no one had any trouble dropping off to sleep. We didn't get to Dollywood, but we only had a week. NO ONE was ever close to being bored.

A lovely vacation for our exploring family!

  • 5 of 5

It was a lovely vacation home. If you come when the water is down & you like to explore the banks be sure to bring shoes you don't mind getting muddy. The water is sulfer so bring bottled water to drink if you don't like drinking sulfer. Also, we needed a bigger frying pan & some glass bowels for our big family. It was close enough that we went to Dollywood one day & Gaitlynburg another. We built a fire & roasted lots of mashmellows. It was perfect for us! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Owner's Response: The lodge has a water filtering system and there is no sulfur smell it is great .. The chalet if it sits for a while will have a small sulfur smell until you run the water for a bit then the filtering system will kick in and it will fade away ..😊

Fun Place - Great Group Space

  • 4 of 5

Group Couples Trip - Great Space, Beautiful Views. Our only complaint was the ability to get down to boathouse/lake, in desperate need of a golf cart. The lodge and chalet were both clean and equipped with the basics. One of the mattresses in the lodge loft area needs replaced. I think they should switch out the 2 queen beds in this room to the 2 double beds and put the 2 queen beds in the separate bedrooms. We had one incident where a ceiling fan fell in the master bedroom of the lodge; when we told the property manager she brought over a vacuum for us to clean up the mess rather than offering to clean it. She did ask if anyone was hurt and luckily no one was.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review .. as far as golf carts ..The lodge Is less than 60 seconds to the lake walking and 30 seconds from the chalet. We just don't want anybody to get hurt! but you would get to the lake in less than 10 seconds thow! And the layout of the bedrooms has been successful for over 10 years but there's always different needs.. unfortunately if we were to change it..somebody else would like it better the other way .. Sorry about the fan incident .. It was mounted to a wood beam never had anything like this happen it took a lot of force to bring it down . Vicky the property manager offered twice to vacuum and clean it up! But was turned down and that's why she left the vacuum ..that mattress was less than six months old! But has been taken care of.. thank you Robert

A great place for large families and kid friendly.

  • 3 of 5

A great place for large families and kid friendly. The boat is a great addition. It was way too hot for the hot tub; and fire place but that is just weather related issues. The furniture and mattresses are due for an update and upgrade but it was the best stocked kitchen we have rented for our large family. Plates, cups, utensils and pans were plenty and I appreciated that. Vicky, the property manager, promptly responded to all our needs. The a.c. couldn't keep up but it was extraordinarily hot this week so maybe that was unusual.
