Why Francois Gagnon chose Nassau
Bonaparte is a classic 1964 Sparkman and Stevens design build by the Burger shipyard, both american icon. In short, a beautiful boat that we bought the day we saw it!!! A ''coup de coeur''. There is something absolutely magical to be on classic boat with graceful lines and varnished mahogany caprail and handrail..also the quality of construction of this vessel is from another era and still so well thought out…a perfect charter yacht! Its all about true yachting atmosphere !

5 star service on a beautiful classic yacht
Francois and Annette made us feel very at home and spoiled. The yacht was classic in style which added to its charm but in mint condition. Throughout the stay we did not want for anything as Francois, Annette and Ashton were always on hand to look after us. We have been round the Exumas before but we went to parts that we hadn't explored before which was a pleasant surprise. Highlights were setting up on an uninhabited beach for the day, riding round on jet skis and seeing sting rays and turtles :) The food was exceptional too and Annette catered amazingly for the gluten free among us. I would highly recommend this for a first time trip or whether you've been many times before. Colette
Fantastic Adventure in the Exumas
Our family (mom, dad and two teenage sons (18and 15)) just returned from a one week voyage through the Exumas on Bonaparte. We had a such a fabulous time - I am not sure where to begin! The boat is very well kept, classic and good looking. The three rooms are very spacious, especially the master. We had plenty of room to move around and plenty of storage, although you really don't need to bring much! The outside space is great. We spent time lounging on the front deck and played games and dined on the aft deck. Captain Francois knows the islands well, and we kept him busy. He found great places for us to go hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, jet skiing, swimming, sight seeing, and paddle boarding. We even had private beaches in many of our destinations. He also spent so much time taking us on little excursions to explore some amazing spots around each island that most people never get to see. The water around these islands is simply stunning. While on board, we were treated like VIPs. Annette's food is amazing and her presentation is beautiful. She was very concerned that everyone enjoy their meals. She went out of her way to make special entrees for my one son whenever the rest of us ate fish since he is not a big seafood fan. She even learned to make two new desserts for us because we said they were our favorites! How she managed to do that on a boat with pre stocked provisions, I'll never know, but they were delicious!! The food at every meal was simply amazing and no one ever went hungry. Jennifer also catered to our every desire. We always had fresh waters and any beverage we needed at any time. We always had towels and beverages packed and ready to go for our adventures. She checked in with us frequently to make sure we were happy and comfortable. In other words, we were very spoiled. The personal service that Francois, Annette and Jennifer provided is hard to find and so appreciated. Overall, our trip on Bonaparte was a very special week with lots of great memories. Every aspect of the vacation was first rate. We hope to go back and spend more time with our new friends!
The Bonaparte is top notch, classic, & clean
This is the best trip I have ever been on. The Bonaparte is top notch, classic, kept in the upmost condition. It was very clean, and the bedrooms can be made as cold as you want. We had 6 adults, and it was very spacious.
The crew was constantly making sure everything was clean and tidy, if you used a towel it would be replaced wit a fresh one. The food was the best I have ever had! Every single meal was unbelievable and was more food then our family of six could eat, although we tried our best because it was so delicious. The service was unbelievable. Francois, Annette, and Chris were so accommodating and always made sure you had a drink, blanket, etc. They really made the trip enjoyable. Franscois was always ready for an adventure, whether it be snorkeling, hiking, exploring the islands on the tender, or taking the boat deep sea fishing (we actually caught a Blue Marlin!). Annette's cooking is superb and she is so nice and caring. Chris always had a smile on her face and was always making sure you had a drink or what ever you wanted. It was truly a pleasure to spend our trip with Annette, Francois, and Chris. This was the second time we''ve been on the Banaparte, and it was just as exciting and memorable as the first time. I cannot say enough about the remarkable experience and the friendships we've made with the crew. I hope we get to go again, sooner rather than later! - Neil Jr.
Cruising aboard the Bonaparte...Our favorite trip
This was our second trip aboard Bonaparte. While we did not think we could top our first trip, our second trip was even better. We traveled with our two boys (11 and 13), my wife, and her parents. It is safe to say that our time aboard is one of the top highlights of our year. The yacht, the accommodations, and countless water activities are fantastic. Your itinerary is filled with endless possibilities. You can choose your environment - anything from a remote anchorage to a bustling waterfront. The food is absolutely splendid with a different theme at each meal. Annette is not only a gracious host but a highly skilled chef. She will amaze you with her variety and made-from-scratch meals. Captain Francois is highly skilled in, not only operating the vessel, but in keeping everyone as busy as they would like and can find an activity that suits everyone. You can do anything from riding Sea Doos to spear fishing to lounging in the sun on the front deck. The Captain is extremely knowledge of the Bahamas and will take you to places that are explored by only a lucky few. What really makes this trip is the crew. Captain Francois and Annette are so personable and fun and they make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. You will be sad to leave Bonaparte. If you are looking for a wonderful experience aboard a classic yacht, this is for you.
Highly recommend the Bonaparte!
The Bonaparte is classic and beautiful, well maintained, has every amenity you would need/want and is perfectly suited to families (there were 5 of us - 2 adults, 3 boys ages 11, 12, 13, the ship sleeps 6 guests). The master bedroom suite is spacious and all 3 bedrooms have plenty of storage space (drawers, closets), lots of natural light and air conditioning. The fore deck is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sun, the salon is comfortable and the aft deck is conducive to relaxing, dining, games and enjoying the beautiful views.
The crew of the Bonaparte is outstanding! Captain Francois Gagnon, his wife Annette and Christine are professional, knowledgable and ensured that we were pampered the entire week. They catered to our every need from activities to dining. They became fond friends by the end of our trip.
Annette is an incredible chef and although our menu was pre-planned, she inquired daily about special likes and favorites foods; as a result she made profiteroles, creme brûlée, homemade chocolate cake as an example, all were delicious. Her food presentation is professional, quality always fresh and every meal was delicious!
Captain Francois is very familiar with the Exumas and took us on many outings so that we could explore and enjoy each Cay to its fullest. He offered many on board activities for the boys as well (jet skis, kayak, snorkeling, SUP, etc) Christine is professional, courteous and a pleasure!
Again, I highly recommend the Bonaparte and her crew; we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and had a marvelous, relaxing week!
