The studio features dramatic 14 foot ceilings and a 12 foot arched window, an open 790 Square foot floor plan with wood floors and brick walls.
FYI: Pioneer Square is a busy vibrant neighborhood, filled with sports fans , homeless panhandles, bar and restaurants, with l live and recorded music. There is a popular bar downstairs and music can be heard thru the floor till closing. Earplugs are provided for light sleepers.( such as my husband and myself !)
Pleas read what other guests say about noise and neighborhood so you can choose wisely.

This classic structure was the first building completed after the great Seattle Fire of 1889. The State Hotel was named for the year Washington Territory became Washington State.
The State Hotel sign on the outside of the building is the second most photographed sign in Seattle. The colorful history of the building is mentioned on the Underground tour and the Duck tour and has had many uses from Alaska gold rush provisioning for miners headed north to a brothel!

There are seven permitted Full time Live/Work Lofts on the upper floors. The Lofts range in size from 784 sq.ft. to 2,494 sq.ft

The State Hotel Building is a mixed-use building on the National Historic Register and the in the Pioneer Square Preservation area.

Year Purchased: 1990

About: My Husband and I are both natives of Seattle and proud to be owners of such a wonderful historic building. The State Hotel building is on the National Historic Register.

Why Downtown, Seattle, WA, USA:
We bought the building as a fixer as it had no power or plumbing above the 1st floor. It has been a labor of love restoration project. We have lived and worked in Pioneer Square over the past 30 years. Right now is the most exciting time, for Pioneer Square and it's great to see all the new shops and restaurants and new neighbors moving to the Square. The Viaduct removal in 2016 will transform the area and connect Pioneer Square to the waterfront.

The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
The State Hotel was built in 1889, after the great Seattle fire and named for the year that Washington went from being a Territory to becoming a State. The State Hotel building has seen many historic moments in the history of Seattle. Once a hardware and provisioning store for all the gold miners headed to Alaska gold rush. There was also a dance hall and brothel in the building during that time too!. Don't miss hearing about the unique history of Pioneer Square on the Seattle Underground Tour. Take the tour and you will learn about the colorful early days of Seattle. It will be a highlight of your visit to Seattle. The tour talks about the State Hotel and it's famous 'Rooms 75 Cents' sign.
