Highly Recommend

  • 5 of 5

Just returned home from Xmas holiday. Second year in row that I have rented this condo and will rent it again next year. Location and price can not be beat. Owner is a pleasure to work with and wants renters to be happy. Great experience. Looking forward to returning!

Our Recent Stay

  • 1 of 5

I was very disappointed with the condition of the accomodations. Did not understand the two entry doors and the multiple inside / outside locks on the 2nd bedroom. Overall the condo was not very clean. The carpeting looked like it had not been cleaned in a long time. The tile on the kitchen floor cracked in multiple places. We were provided 1 kitchen towel and discloth - really for a week?? Both the tub floors were squishy like there was no sub floor and felt as if you were going to go through the floor. One of the tubs had a hole in it. The several pieces of the porch furniture seats were broken and dangerous. I would not recommend this property.

Disappointed

  • 2 of 5

The villa is in a nice location and the view from the porch is wonderful with beautiful landscaping. The atmosphere on the island is wonderful and laid back. It was so nice to walk or ride bikes in the evening.

The inside however was disappointing. The initial smell of bleach when we arrived wore off and was replaced with a bit of a musty smell. Here are a few things we found that alone would not be so bad but all in the same week made it appear that the condo was not taken care of.

The fan in 2nd bedroom didn't work. Broken dresser drawer.

The AC in 2nd bedroom didn't work. We had to leave the kids door open so they could be comfortable at night.

The master bdr door was split at the latch where it looked like someone had pushed it open while it was locked.

The master Bdr has a Queen Bed not a King like the listing says. However, it was comfortable.

The 2nd bdr bath had a 3-4" slit in the tub hence a musty smell. The owner said not to worry....the water would just drain outside.

The master bath curtain had duct tape keeping part of it on the rings. Some floor tiles were buckling up .with no grout between...looks like due to water damage.

Three or four palmetto bugs just for fun.

The pull out sofa (needed for one child to sleep on) had no sheets. When we called the owner he said to look for a key and open a closet to get extra sheets.....we could find no key and he didn't call anyone to bring us sheets. She slept on blankets from the other kids beds.

On the first morning when going to make coffee I found old coffee grounds with mold growing....not alittle ..alot No telling how long it had been there. Then we opened the dishwasher and were blown away by the "fish" smell. If the last dishes were washed in there and put away...what was I going to use? It took two wash throughs to get the smell out. So what were the cleaning people doing when they were there???

There were 25 or more kitchen tiles broken and a broken drawer that basically just had a door front.

The porch needed a good cleaning (dust and cobwebs) and the porch furniture had duct tape in various places. Some sort of instructions for the tv would have been nice. (channel directory)

The dryer worked just fine for us.

It appears the condo just needs some TLC and a good cleaning crew along with some repairs. From now on we will rent from a management company instead of an owner who lives very far away. Hopefully some of these things have been fixed.

Great Family Vacation!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed in this unit for a week in July. Great Location for family with teens for biking, swimming, & mini-golf. Quiet location away from main gate and very litte car traffic. We found the unit to be in great condition with air and fans and good working order especially for the hot July weather. Unit is in wooded location so you have lots of shade on screen porch even during the day. We definately plan to stay here again! It was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable vacations we have had in years. If you are looking for a location that is laid back and low key you have found it here!

Broken dryer! Weak A/C in bedroom with a broken fan! Loose Floor tiles! Dead bugs!

  • 1 of 5

We chose this property for rental as the owner made a good deal for the 4 nights we wanted to stay. We were attracted by the fact it had a washer and dryer so we could take less clothes with our 3 children. The place is relativly clean but dated as no upgrades have been done in a very long time. I found a lot of dead

caterpillar/worms on the carpet in several rooms and also a rather large Palmetto Bug (roach) on the carpet in the room where my kids were staying. All the bugs were dead which means the pest control is working. The biggest issue with the stay was the dryer. We as a family brought down only enough clothes for a few days as we were under the impression it had a working washer and dryer. The dryer makes noise and spins but has no heat so nothing will dry in it. I called and left a message for the owner Wednesday but received no word back and reached him directly the following day. The owner said he was not aware the dryer was not working but would have his maintanence man look at it and see about getting it repaired. The owner called back stating the maintance man already knew it was not working but had ordered a part for it and it would be repaired on Friday. The dryer was never repaired and I drove home on Saturday in dirty underwear. Another issue with this is there were only 5 bath towels in the unit. We requested more towels since the dryer would not work and the owner said they would be dropped off on Thursday. On Friday we received 3 towels.

Another issue is that the front bedroom has very little air conditioning going to it. I would have tolerated it as a ceiling fan would keep the room cool enough to sleep in. The ceiling fan in the room doesn't work as there is no pull cord to turn the fan on. There is a pull cord for the light and it works but no fan. the light globe on the fan also looks like it would fall off if you turned the fan on so I am suspecting instead of making a repair to globe, just make the fan not work. We all (5 people) slept in 1 bedroom because that room was too hot to sleep in. There were also loose tiles on the bathroom floors. Just a really sub par resort experience. Next time I will rent through Wyndham instaed of through an individual owner. The dryer issue really caused a lot of undue stress as we only brought so much clothes and there was no way to get the washed clothes dry. Can''t hang them outside as they will never dry. Too humid. No drying rack in the house to hang them on either. Family vacation FAIL!
