We stayed here instead of a hotel as we looked fur a house in the area. Everything about our stay in this home has been exceptional. An experience we couldn't have had in a hotel. The home is beautiful and comfortable. Excellent air conditioners and fans. The kitchen is equipped with everything we could possibly need. The rooms and bathrooms are generous in size, clean, and comfortable. The backyard is well shaded and relaxing. We loved the pool. The fountain keeps the pool cool on hot days. We use it almost every day. The views from the front and back are spectacular. The owners are attentive. Everything positive about this home. Our family consists of teenagers, young children, and a toddler. Plenty to do for everyone. 18 minute drive to grocery store.
The home is located in a quiet, safe gated community south of Tucson (about a 30 minute drive to downtown). It is large, clean comfortable and well appointed. We liked that housekeeping came in every other week and cleaned the home from top to bottom. The landscaped pool in the large fenced yard gives the impression of an oasis in the desert. The view of the stars at night is awesome, and there is a side patio area to observe the beautiful Arizona sunsets. It is a short 15 minute drive in either direction to shopping, restaurants and other services. The owner is very easy to work with and the local contact, Tom, is friendly and responsive to any requests one might have. It is also dog friendly. We would definitely stay again.
Nearby attractions are:
The Desert Museum (http://www.desertmuseum.org) with exhibits of live animals and birds that live in the desert, including a wonderful hummingbird house where there are often nesting birds (see our photos).
Colossal Caves where there is also horseback riding. Sabino Canyon that can be hiked or seen while riding in a trolley.
Within a two hour drive is the large Kitt’s Peak Observatory with an opportunity for night viewing with reservations and Tombstone.
