*** A Note From the Owners of Ka Hale Huna***

Along with the very comfortable suite for two you will also be welcomed with fresh flowers picked right out of my botanical gardens just for you, orchid plants in bloom that were grown in my shade house, and a fruit basket full of fresh local fruits, whatever happens to be in season at the time and will be replenished during your stay. If you love huge, buttery avocados then come during September through November. Just a few steps from your door you can pick your own tree ripened avocados.

Ka Hale Huna offered peaceful tranquility and beautiful views from our private lanai. Morning wake up calls were provided compliments of the tropical birds in the canopy just outside our door. We were welcomed with a basket of fresh fruit havested from Char's lovingly tended gardens, macadamia nuts, and 100% Kona coffee. The personal garden tour is not to be missed. Char's personal knowledge of the area proved quite valuable, as she provided advice on the best eateries and places to visit, often frequented by only the locals "in the know". We will most certainly return to Ka Hale Huna on our next visit to the North Shore.

Great Place to Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Char and Chris were very welcoming and great hosts. They are friendly and helpful but also give you all the privacy you need. The place is as advertised. It is clean and secure. Nice balcony and kitchen with everything you need. I would definitely stay here again. The location is perfect. Just up the hill from Sharks Cove. There are several good food trucks and a grocery store at the bottom of the hill. Great hiking options within minutes. Waimea bay beach park is just down the road. The only recommendation I would make is for there to be drapes for the sliding door for added privacy. The current drapes are very transparent. It was never an issue as they never came down to our balcony but we would have felt more comfortable with them at night. Overall this is a great place to stay!

Peaceful and verdant!

  • 5 of 5

Out of the way location on a beautiful hill top with a view of the ocean! Clean, spacious and comfy room with kitchenette with cool breezes and bird songs, and a rooster crow or two, of course! King sized bed! Wonderful water pressure in shower with plenty of hot h2o! Close to the beach and grocery store! Steps down to apartment on lower level! Friendly hosts! Tropical garden! We would stay again!

Perfect hideaway for two

  • 5 of 5

Perfect hideaway for two. We thank Char & Chris for sharing their piece of Paradise. I don't want to repeat what others have said but what you read is true. This is a treasure for all of the senses.

We came for one of our sons North Shore wedding and left with so many positive memories, we are already planning a North Shore return.

Again, a big heartfelt Mahalo to Char & Chris

Beautiful retreat in the hills above the ocean

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Char and Chris's 1st floor studio. The views were amazing and we were greeted with a lovely gift basket and fresh flowers in our room. We even got a nice tour of Char's garden. Their place is away from the busy street noise near the water, we definitely recommend this place. It is also close to a grocery store and food trucks.

Forget the hotels

  • 5 of 5

Where to begin? If you are looking for a tranquil, private hideaway free from other tourists then look no further. The view is beyond words. If you look at the photo of the house in their ad, you will see 3 levels and the lowest entire outside level is your private Lanai. That being said you are still high above the treetops overlooking lush green terrain with a peek of the ocean off to the far left. Everything you need is in this private Suite including a small kitchen overlooking the incredible view. We received a tour of their garden by Chris and his charming daughter and we sampled an interesting variety of plants and vegetation. We were pleasantly surprised to have a welcome basket of coffee fruit and nuts waiting for us along with sparkling cider since it was our honeymoon. Their daughter was even kind enough to bring me an avocado the size of a cantaloupe! The room is spacious and looks exactly like the photos in the ad. Everything was very clean. We came in January and apparently the temperature in HI drops considerably in the evening in the winter so I definitely recommend bringing a warm robe and slippers as the floor can get quite cold. That being said we never had to turn on the AC and we really enjoyed being able to get snuggled in under the covers (Great sleeping weather). My only regret is that we did not have enough time to truly enjoy this beautiful location because we were so busy running around doing other things on the island. If you choose to come here (and I can't think of one reason why you wouldn't want to) it would be well worth your while to plan a day in so you can really take in the beauty and privacy and tranquility. I feel so fortunate to have found this place and I would definitely return given the opportunity. I can't imagine ever staying in a hotel again after having this experience. Mahalo Chris, Char and daughter. -Nancy and Matt
