About the property

Perched high above the road, this home commands presence and offers the privacy you desire. The Glacier Peak Lodge has the greatest view potential of any home in Yosemite West. On a normal day you can see for miles out through many of the picturesque windows. After a long day of hiking, swimming, or site seeing in beautiful Yosemite National Park, you can come home to unwind by watching the sunset from the comfort of your living room while enjoying the warmth of the cozy stone fireplace. The main unit features 3 bedrooms equipped with 3 queen beds with 14 inch memory foam mattresses for a relaxing night sleep. Also 4 adult sized roll away beds are available with memory foam mattresses to provide comfort. This lodge also offers 2 full baths, large living room with stone fireplace, spacious kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances, rustic dining room, and 2 large decks. Glacier Peak Lodge accommodates up to 10 adult guests in the upper main unit.

The 2 story In-Law unit has a separate entrance, spacious living/dining area, large kitchen, 2 bedrooms each equipped with queen memory foam mattress beds/ 1 adult sized roll away bed with memory foam topper for additional comfort and 1 full bath. The lower level In-Law unit, accommodates up to 5 adult guests. Glacier Peak Lodge is reserved for larger groups and we prefer renting both units to the same party over the summer months. Stay in both units at Glacier Peak Lodge and accommodate up to 15 adult guests comfortably, perfect for family gatherings over summer! During the winters, we can only allow one vehicle, and the cabin can only hold 8 guests maximum. This property does not have Internet, but you are welcome to use our Internet Business Center located at our Homes office. Due to our remote location, and the fact that most of our properties are surrounded by tall Yosemite pine and cedar trees, it makes it almost impossible to receive clear satellite signals, cable isn’t available yet in our community. You can use the Wi-Fi Internet Network at the lounge at the beautiful Curry Village in Yosemite Valley, just a short drive from our location, stop by have lunch and catch up with your e-mails! We are doing our best to provide you this service but unfortunately the technology for full service just isn’t available yet in our community.

PLEASE BE ADVISED! Due to Glacier Peak Lodge's unique mountain terrain location perched high on a hillside, during our winter season from November 1st through April 30th, this property can only be accessed by using the stair entry which has 26 steps leading up into its main entrance. For most people, this is not a problem and is well worth the climb for it’s amazing views. ALSO DURING OUR WINTER SEASON GLACIER PEAK LODGE CAN ONLY ACCOMMODATE A MAXIMUM OF 1 VEHICLES IN THE 40FT DRIVEWAY, and the cabin can only hold up to 8 guests over winter. During the summer months, you may have 4 vehicles, and the cabin may accommodate up to 15 guests.

Amazing view and great location

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed this house very much. The view from the great room was amazing! The location to the Valley was only a half hour drive. Although, driving at night is challenging so dinners at the house are a good option. Please note there is no internet and limited cell service so there is plenty of time for bonding after a long day of hiking. We had fun watching the DVDs and working on a puzzle. The great room was our gathering place for our extended family.

Improvements - Furniture in the bedrooms. Most of the rooms did not have a dresser or end tables. The rollaway cots were not comfortable and more blankets were needed. We stayed at the house in mid-May and it was cold in the lower bedroom and the in-law suite kitchen. All other rooms were comfortable.

Probably the best way to experience the grandeur of Yosemite National Park is by hiking or backpacking through it’s fields, forests, and paths. Every turn displays different natural wonders; each path brings you closer to the environment. With more than 800 miles of trails to explore, Yosemite National Park offers something for everyone from the beginning stroller to the expert trekker. Hiking in Yosemite is what you make it—whether it’s a 14-mile hike up 4,800 feet on the Half Dome trail, or a relaxing jaunt along the Cook’s Meadow Loop, Yosemite hiking is a journey you’ll not soon forget.

Day hikes range from flat walks to robust climbs, with distances from the valley of under one mile (to Bridalveil Fall, easy) up to 17 miles (to Half-Dome, very strenuous). Visitors will see waterfalls, especially strong in the spring, glacial ravines, panoramic views, forests and meadows.

You can also hike above the valley floor south in Wawona, where you will see covered bridges, open pine forest, and the Giant Sequoias Grove. Shuttle bus service is available for tired trekkers to return to Wawona from the Grove. From the nortern part of the park, you can visit Soda Springs, Cathedral Lakes and follow the John Muir Trail. Longer hikes lead to Tioga Pass and the High Sierra Camp.
