At an elevation of over 6,500 feet, Munds Park is a beautiful mountain community nestled in the world's largest stand of Ponderosa Pines. Munds Park offers many of the amenities of a small town and is just a short walk to the surrounding Coconino National Forest. Pinewood Country Club, with its 18-hole championship golf course is in the center of the community. If you are looking for more excitement, Flagstaff, AZ, with its wide variety of restaurants, exciting nightlife, museums, movie theaters, art festivals, ski resort, and shopping is just 20 miles to the north.
Our 1,350 sq.ft. cabin is situated on a large, heavily treed, relatively secluded lot at the end of a cul-de-sac. Our 3 bedroom, 2 bath cabin sleeps 7 comfortably. The master-bedroom has a queen-sized bed and private bathroom. The largest secondary bedroom has a total of 3 twin beds, one being a pull-out trundle. The third bedroom has a queen-sized bed. The second bathroom has a tub/shower combination. The living room's dramatic focal point is a large wood-burning fireplace which provides a great place to warm hands after a day of playing in the snow or a romantic setting on chilly evenings. A wall of windows in the living room and dining room not only provides a beautiful view, it fills the rooms with natural light. The dining room that easily seats 8, opens to a large, fully equipped kitchen that includes a double oven.
The positioning of our cabin on the lot provides for a great deal of privacy for alfresco dining or just lounging while reading a good book or enjoying a glass of wine.
For you nature lovers, we have seen elk, deer, turkey, javalina, raccoon, coyote, fox, and a large variety of birds from the comfort of our cabin and/or deck.
The night sky is amazing in Munds Park. You can see stars, constellations, and galaxies, with the naked eye, that you'll never see in a large city. The spotting of a shooting star occurs frequently.
We are fortunate to have a seasonal stream that runs through the back of our property. If you are lucky enough to be here after a heavy monsoon rain or when the snow is melting, you'll likely enjoy the sights and sounds of the stream.
We purchased our 'Mountain Dream' in 2002. Since then our family has had the opportunity to build priceless memories as we have enjoyed countless weekends, annual snow trips, the celebration of birthdays and numerous holidays at our mountain retreat.
Last year we offered our cabin as a honeymoon destination to a niece and her new husband; then earlier this summer, as an anniversary get-away for close friends. After listening to both of these couples express how much the time they spent at the cabin meant them, we realized others would love our 'Mountain Dream' as much as we do.
Patte Fleming purchased this cabin in 2002
The cabin is all hoped for from reading the description on VRBO. Actually it has many more amenities than listed on the web-site. I have lived in many rentals over the years and this cabin was the most impeccably clean of any and furnished with any and all items you would need to make your stay enjoyable. No need to bring anything from home. An additional benefit is that the owner is very attentive to any questions you may have. Without any hesitation I can recommend this home.
Just came back from a lovely stay at this beautiful cabin. Patte, the owner, was easy to work with and made the whole process very comfortable. The cabin was stocked with everything we could have needed, more than we expected. The patio was nestled in the trees making us feel like we were sitting in the forest.
We highly recommend this lovely cabin in Munds Park....
Thank you so much for a wonderful escape from the Phoenix heat. It was 110+ the whole week and we thoroughly enjoyed 80's during the day and 50's-60's at night. Our favorite thing to do is sit on the deck as a family and enjoy the breeze swaying the trees. This property definitely gave us that!
We try to retreat every summer, which isn't necessarily easy since we have a 17 year old in a wheelchair and a 14 year old with Asperger's Syndrome. This property was very accomodating for both. Our younger son got his own space and could hideway when things were too much. We threw a portable ramp in front of the front door and were able to easily get our son around both inside and outside.
The cabin already had anything and everything you could think of. That's always nice.
Communication with the owners was superb--both before and after. I've rented about 25 properties over the past decade and you don't always get that!
Very much recommend for a family looking to get away or for a girls or guys weekend!
I would love to sneak away here for Thanksgiving or Christmas!
My family and I stayed two nights at this amazing home, it was everything and more, perfect location. We spent a day at Sedona and a day seeing the GrandCanyon. The Cabn was perfect, it had everything you need. The neighbors were nice and was easy to find. We had an amazing time and plan on staying again in the future!
My friend and I and our two girls needed a last minute place to stay and the owners of this property were very accommodating and wonderful. The home is beautiful and because it is a well loved family retreat, all of the comforts of home are included. The owner is very well organized and the home was clean and welcoming. Our girls enjoyed playing out back as well as playing with some of the many board games available. We had a fabulous experience and will definitely recommend to others.
What a mountain retreat, for I love staying here and look forward to returning again next year. It is perfect for enjoying the outdoors, golfing, sitting out on the patio with a glass of wine or even in front of the beautiful fireplace! It is perfect for so many reasons 1) the weather 2) close to Flagstaff 3) great for walking or riding bikes in the forest 3) close to Sedona, 4) close to Page Springs for wine tasting or 5) the starry nights. I've grown found of watching all the birds in Munds Park too. You can tell the owners love their retreat for it is in excellent condition!
