About Barb O'Donnell
Lived in this neighborhood over twenty-five years, raised two sons and couldn't think of a better place to live. Year round community but close to the beach for surfing (the men) and walking the beach (me).
Why Barb O'Donnell chose Rumson
This house is over 100 years old, a little funky, probably not for everybody, but just what a beach house has always been to me. Lots of charm, cozy and comfortable, rocking chairs on the porch to sit with your morning coffee, or evening glass of wine.
What makes this House unique
Although you are very close to the Sea Bright beach, you are in a family neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of the beach town. Kids can ride bikes, go to the playground, or fish in Polly's pond. Walk over the bridge and you're right in the middle of the summer fun, but when you come home, you are away from it all.

Absolutely perfect home for our shore getaway!
I can't say enough about how wonderful, almost magical, our stay was in Barb's home. We felt like we were staying at our grandparents bungalow. The kitchen was nicely equipped for cooking for my family. the living room was spacious and comfortable. My kids had so much fun they didn't even think to turn on the TV. The location couldn't have been better. We walked to the beach during the day. And to the ice cream parlor in the evening. Even Sandy Hook was only a 15 min bike trip away. We only had a few days, but we returned well rested with great memories.
We can't wait to go back.
Thank you Barb!
Quaint House - Just What You Need
If you are looking for a quaint spot with some character, this house does not disappoint. It is in a great location and was refreshingly unique in its eclectic style.
We really enjoyed our stay here! We were in town for a work event and our entire group fit comfortably in the house. We were able to grill outside and walk to the beach in the evening. Barb was a great host!
Great place, close to most.
Nice place for a small group
The house is very comfortable and well equipped. It is in a lovely neighborhood and prime location for Sea Bright Beach, with an easy walk over the bridge to the beach.
Very nice, quaint house in a wonderful neighborhood, close to the beach.
This is a small house but it slept our party of five very comfortably. Kitchen is well supplied. It is an older house with small bedrooms but that all plays into its charm. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Security fee is not returned in the event of a cancellation, but fee may be applied to a future stay booked within 1 year of the original booking. House Rules Please recycle. There is a bin in the laundry room for mixed recycling, plastic, glass, newspaper and cardboard. Boxes are to be flattened. Overflow can be transferred to the bin outside near the garage. Recycling is picked up curbside the first and third Wednesday of every month. Trash is collected Monday and Thursday. Trash cans are outside behind the holly tree. Please bag all trash before you put it in the cans. Plastic bags are provided and are in the kitchen. Upon departure leave all used beds turned down and put all towels in the hampers in each room. Leave the two sets of keys on the coffee table with the beach badges. (Seasonal badges are $100.00 each and failure to return them will mean cost will be deducted from your security.) To use the charcoal grill, no lighter fluid is required if you start it with the chimney. Put two sheets of crumbled newspaper in the smaller, bottom part of the chimney. Fill the larger part of the chimney with charcoal. Remove the upper cooking area from the grill and place the filled chimney on the bottom grill. Light the newspaper in the chimney. Allow about fifteen minutes for the all the charcoal to catch. Once all the coals have caught and are starting to turn white, carefully dump the charcoal onto the lower grill. Replace the cooking grill . You’re ready to go. Raspberries in the back yard are delicious and ripe for picking. Help yourself. Do not use the trash compactor in the kitchen for anything other than cardboard. (One of these days I want it replaced with a wine cooler!) Thank you for choosing our home. Enjoy your stay.
