Radio Bar is a cool lounge with great DJ's. The Flat is a piano bar where you might find the Gypsy Kings playing impromptu on a Friday night. And Story is our only night club South of Fifth, 2nd only to LIV!
For those who enjoy more cultural activities, the award winning New World Symphony (which has Wall Casts on Saturdays and Movies on Wednesdays is located just North of Lincoln Road. The Performing Arts Center is downtown, just across the bridge (two miles), and The Filmore (Lincoln Road), has shows almost every weekend. There are several museums on the beach, too, such as the famous Bass Museum. The Children's Museum and Jungle Island are just minutes away on the bridge. Within a ten minute drive is the Design District and Wynwood area, which houses some of the best art galleries in Miami, modern furniture stores, and trendy cafes and restaurants.
If you really want to experience South Florida, you must go swimming with the dolphins at the Miami Seaquarium (20 minutes away) or take a short 45 minute drive to the Everglades where you can see alligators in their natural habitat or take an air boat ride. The Florida Keys are only an hour away and make a beautiful day trip for kayaking the mangroves or snorkeling sunken ships.
No matter what you choose to the beach, shop, water sports, or stroll through South Pointe Park and watch the cruise ships leave port, it is all within walking distance from our condo!
We have guest passes for street parking if needed for $5 per day. (Please let me know prior to your trip if you need them, so we can purchase) If you prefer not to walk or ride bikes (DECO BIKE rental stations on every corner for drop offs and pick ups, including right in front of our condo), there is the South Beach Loop Bus, which costs 25 cents, right across the street. The 'Airport Flyer' costs $2.65 and drops you at Washington Avenue (5th Street) from the airport and also picks you up there. Transportation is not an issue here at all, so don't feel like you need a car.
