About Marilyn Bryan
My husband is a Louisville native and longtime barber, whose shop is right next door in our home. I've lived in the city for 30-plus years and love our beautiful, tree-filled neighborhood!
Why Marilyn Bryan chose Beechmont
We bought this house from our next-door neighbor and friend Kitty, who lived here until she was almost 98 years old! For several years, we used it as a guest house for out-of-town family and friends and then started offering it to other travelers, too. To us, it will always be known as "Kitty's house."
What makes this House unique
Kitty's house is just a few minutes from I-65 and I-264, and you can take 2nd Street north through Old Louisville and be downtown in 10 minutes. We live right next door and are available if you have any questions or need a recommendation.

Who has a dozen roses on the table when you come to your rental house to commemorate your first visit to Churchill Downs? Well, Marilyn that's who. I'm not really a 'gusher', but it's hard not to be in this review. Just a really clean comfortable house with a perfect hostess. 'Cleanness' should have had its own sentence. You couldn't see dirt or dust anywhere. great couch, tv, and other accommodations. Beds were very comfortable. My wife bought a new pillow when we got back after using one at this house. Yeah, it was good.
Great place and awesome hostess!
Marilyn was great ! She made sure we were comfortable and all of our needs were met. Place was very clean also .
Charming, comfortable home and gracious host
We cannot say enough about this lovely home! We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back again. A fully stocked kitchen and comfortable living room furniture as well as an awesome outdoor patio made us want to just settle in and enjoy our visit. Comfortable beds were a plus. Marilyn was wonderful to work with and went out of her way to welcome us and make sure we had everything we needed. The house was immaculate which is a huge priority for us anytime we travel. There is no comparison to staying in a hotel - we VRBO as often as we can, and this sweet house is a perfect example of why! We’ll be back!
Great property with a wonderful hostess
The house is well furnished and was the perfect place for my wife and I to get away for a few days after Christmas. Marilyn was great with local activity suggestions and even had a coupon for us to go to the Lights Under Louisville attraction. The house has great charm and modern touches that made it fine to just stay in when it was 20degrees outside. We'll be going back for sure.
Thank you for staying at Kitty’s House, Kevin. So nice to meet you and Amy! Do come back when it’s warmer. There’s tons to do in Louisville!
Cute house and excellent location!
Overall loved our stay at Kitty's house! Marilyn is so sweet. House was very comfortable and absolutely loved having the washer and dryer. Marilyn was more than accommodating with us having to leave early. Great location near the Kentucky Expo center where we were attending a show. Will definitely stay here next year.
Great Little Get-A-Way!
I would absolutely book here again. The neighborhood felt safe. The home was spacious, clean and very comfortable. It’s an older house, but has been maintained beautifully over the years. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. While my husband and I enjoyed watching Netflix in front of a cozy fireplace, the kids had a ball playing ping-pong in the basement.
The owner, next door, was very welcoming. She gave us our privacy but was responsive to questions we texted her throughout the weekend (extra bedding for the kids, recommendations to good restaurants, etc). Her response time was impressive.
Overall, it was an extremely positive experience!
