Beloved by renters in years past, #1 Addy is back on the market. Located on a street with no through traffic, you will have access to Middlesex’s private beach. The house has been renovated to include skylights, central heating and air, Wi-Fi, two cable TVs, DVD player, new washer and dryer, and an upgraded outside shower. There are three bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths downstairs, one large bedroom, full bath and loft upstairs. Two open decks are favorite lounging areas for morning coffee or evening cocktails. The dining room and two bedrooms give out onto a large screened porch that runs across the back of the house. The established landscaping creates a cool green refuge from the hot summer sun. You will have access to a gas grill, four bicycles, beach chairs and assorted toys, and a hammock. It’s a great place to build your summer memories with family. And in colder months you can get away for a weekend or winter holiday to enjoy the brick fireplace, the Delaware shore’s slower pace, and the beach’s magical winter light. Middlesex Beach is away from the crowds but within a quick bike ride and strolling distance of Bethany's vibrant boardwalk, with shops and restaurants.

About Ann Mills or Tish Mills
Our parents built this house in 1968, making modifications to the structure to ensure plenty of indoor and outside space. It has been a refuge for our family ever since. It was a constant when we were younger and lived in foreign countries -- it was a refuge through those transient years and in through later stages in life. Much care has been given to selecting furniture and art, while maintaining the spirit of the 1960s. Once you arrive you will never want to leave. It has been a great place to relax, spend time with family and friends, cook great meals, and build lasting memories. We recently winterized it, installing central heating and air and upgrading the windows so that we can now enjoy it year round.

Why Ann Mills or Tish Mills chose Bethany Beach
Our parents rented cottages in Rehoboth and Ocean City in the mid 1960s. They then fell in love with Middlesex Beach and built this cottage in 1968. They are both deceased and the cottage has now been passed down to the next generation. We love it more than ever.
What makes this Cottage unique
The pine and bayberry trees in Middlesex Beach create a sense of calm and privacy that is unique to this stretch of the Delaware coast. The private beach means fewer crowds. In some respects Middlesex Beach is frozen in time -- a simpler and more relaxed time.
Charming vintage cottage in the pines of Middlesex Beach
Charming “vintage” home in a beautiful setting in the pines. Bikes for easy beach and town access, and plenty of beach chairs were a big plus. 2 living areas were spacious plus a very large screened porch. Nice deck and yard covered in pine straw. Kitchen is tiny but the rest of the amenities and setting make up for it. Comfortable beds. Owners were very attentive.
Charming cottage with vintage modern details and all the amenities
This is a lovely beach house at the end of a quiet street. The house is outfitted with everything necessary for a perfect beach vacation and the setting amidst pine trees is gorgeous. Owner is super-friendly and responsive as well.
Vintage modern lovers will appreciate the furniture and decor! Middlesex beach is a hidden gem in Delaware - would love to book again!
Love Love Love
Stayed here many times because it is cute, cozy, well appointed and well located. Will stay again.
Thx Ann for another great wknd!
Great vacation house
Our family had an excellent week at the beach, despite some wet and chilly weather. The house is very spacious and welcoming and the location at the end of the dead end street was ideal. Our young kids had a blast peddling around the quiet neighborhood streets between trips to the shore. The kitchen was well stocked, the grill worked well, and the multiple outdoor spaces are superb. We also really appreciated the sheds which were filled with great beach cruising bikes and a variety of other fun toys. The owners have put together a wonderful house and they are a true pleasure to work with. Thanks very much for a great week. We'd love to return!
Great beach house!
Everything about this house was perfect for us! Highly recommend. We will definitely be back, felt like home!
Such a cozy, welcoming spot!
We have vacationed at Bethany Beach several times over past 20+ years. This was our 1st time at #1Addy and absolutely loved it. The home has such unusual and quirky charm! Not a home boasting large spaces and complete updates; instead offering warmth and charm of well planned spaces. Notes throughout helped us navigate the details of occupying unfamiliar spaces. Very colorful and unique decor which gives guests the sense of being part of something quite special. Plenty of choice of areas to have solitude....wonderful back screened porch with paper lanterns, side porch filled with flowers, secluded seating area in side yard or even the cozy chairs outside master bedroom on front porch. Perhaps my favorite space was the kitchen which offered a clear view of most living spaces, yet afforded a wonderful work area for the cook! While very small, I absolutely loved it! With 5 children under the age of 10 the safety of the end of a dead end street allowed for endless cycling back and forth.....and opportunity for the 4 year old to master the bicycle (which we did bring with us). Three of the four adults rated it best ever!
Bethany Beach -- just a mile north - has summer concerts on the boardwalk every Saturday night, ice cream parlors and lots of benches to sit on and enjoy the family crowds. Bethany Beach Books is a great place to pick up a mystery novel . Amusement parks are located in both Ocean City and Rehoboth - each about 15-20 minutes away. Boat rentals are close by. The town of Lewes provides great shopping. The adjacent state park is a must see for WWII buffs.
