Located just above Swan Lake Nature Sanctuary in a quiet neighbourhood on a no exit street, this ground level apartment is nestled between native Garry Oak trees which provide dappled sunlight to a serene garden patio area. Guests may enjoy the private outdoor patio for a barbeque or to just relax in the sunny garden.
The apartment has one bedroom with a double bed. The living area converts into a 2nd bedroom with a Queen size Murphy bed. The entire apartment sleeps 3-4 people comfortably. The kitchen is fully equipped to create economical meals rather than dining out or to just have the convenience of brewing fresh coffee in the morning. Located a few minutes’ walk away are a selection of stores at Saanich Centre for fresh groceries, liquor, or a Starbucks latte.
If guests do not have a car or prefer to cycle, we provide two bicycles, helmets, and panniers. The Lochside and Galloping Goose Trails provide excellent safe cycling 20 minutes to downtown Victoria or further afield to Sooke or Sidney. If bicycling is not on your agenda then catch the bus from Quadra, Mackenzie or Saanich roads a few minutes’ walk away.
Other amenities include wifi, television with included Netflix, in-suite washer and dryer, as well as knowledgeable and friendly hosts living upstairs.
While the suite is available during the summer for short or longer stays, it is also available during the winter months (September to April) for minimum 3 month rentals. This location would be ideal for students attending the University of Victoria or Camosun College wanting a fully furnished suite, fully equipped kitchen & with linens provided, while attending to their studies.
My husband and I wanted a place that was near the bike trails and close to downtown. We did not want to get a car and just wanted to enjoy as much of our time riding around the city. We had biked Lopez Island and then took the ferry to Sydney and road to the house that was in a quiet neighborhood right off the bike trail. We came into the house with beautiful flowers on the table and in the bathroom. Our host Laurel was wonderful. We used their bikes that they provided. It would be a bit of a walk to downtown but not with bikes. We rode to Butchart Gardens one day. There is also a bus stop at the bottom of the hill. We used the bus one night when I wanted to get dressed up. I cooked most meal at home. There was a grocery store and a wine store at the bottom of the hill. The little backyard would have been great if the weather was better. The place looks like it was newly remodeled. Very clean!!
We were in Victoria for five nights while our daughter competed in provincial championships. This place was perfect for that as it offered space to unwind, a well-equipped kitchen for healthy meals, a washer/dryer, and QUIET for a restful sleep. We loved having a private outdoor garden area. This place is clean, quite large, and really made our trip much easier. Thanks, Laurel and Del!
Spotless, with fresh flowers, and a welcoming container of milk in fridge for coffee or tea. The 3 different rooms gave my Mom and I our own space, when she got up in the early morning, much larger than what I would consider a suite. separate kitche, bedroom, and living room (which was my bedroom with murphy bed -- very comfortable) Lovely private patio, everything we needed to fix breakfast -- toaster, electric kettle coffeemaker -- We also made dinner, and had everything we needed. Kitchen is large enough for a table. Grocery stores, both organic grocery and regular grocery very close by. The towels were so thick and soft, great shower.. TV has netflix. The owners are friendly and helpful, but also give guests their privacy. Very convenient location to downtown Victoria, and to routes 17 and 1. Off street parking. And the place is so clean. The bike option would have been great if I had been on my own. So much better than a hotel room at twice the price. And try the White Heather for high tea -- a bit more casual than the Empress, but the food was fantastic and the staff so friendly. And if you are here on Canada day, go to Fort Rodd Hill to have some of the biggest birthday cake in Canada. I will be recommending this apt for friends headed to Victoria, and hope to return myself.
This basement suite was just what I needed for a two week stay in Victoria. The suite is lacking a comfortable sitting room (no couch) feels very much like just a two bedroom suite with nice kitchen. There is a nice patio. Insuite Laundry is a nice plus. The owners live upstairs and are very helpful, they were able to bring us salt/pepper so we didn't have to buy and leave behind some. There is also plenty of shampoo/conditioner/body wash provided in the bathroom (enough for a month or more)
Shopping for food plus other need is about a 7 min walk.
Location is great for walks around swan lake or biking.
Other fun things to do around Victoria are take a sightseeing city bus tour, sometimes you can get cheaper tickets on groupon. Whale watching is a fun way to spend your time.
Comfortable, well appointed, clean suite in good location. Great to have bikes and be on the galloping goose trail in minutes. Small private patio with BBQ and beautiful victoria landscaping to enjoy. Birdwatching at nearby Swan Lake enjoyable as well.
We stayed for 2 nights in this very clean, comfortable suite and we highly recommend it. For those who wish to cook, everything you need is provided, including a barbecue which is located in a small, beautiful patio area. Laurel also provided us with 3 bicycles which we used to cycle to Butchart Gardens (a great day trip if you like to cycle). The location is great - close to the city and Butchart Gardens but in a quiet residential neighbourhood. Laurel provided a lot of written information about things to do in the area, and she was also available to answer any questions that we had. We would definitely stay here again!
We are moments from Victoria's famous biking and walking trail network. The Lochside and Galloping Goose trails provide picturesque and safe bicycle access to downtown Victoria to Sooke and Sidney!
