About Cheryl Schaaf

My husband and I wound up in Fort Collins in 1997 and 1998 to attend Colorado State University. We met, married and never left! We have enjoyed many trips to various parts of the U.S. and other countries using VRBO as our main source for vacation rentals. Our hope is that everyone who stays at the Smith house has the same positive experiences we have had.

Cheryl Schaaf purchased this house in 2013

Why Cheryl Schaaf chose Fort Collins

We have always wanted to own a property in Old Town. There is a certain 'vibe' to the area that you can't fine anywhere else in town. It is a quiet, but vibrant area, so close to restaurants, bars, breweries, shops, trails and parks. My family and I live in Fort Collins and simply want to provide a place for visitors to enjoy all the city has to offer!

What makes this house unique

We loved the charm of this house right away. It has beautiful arches, wood floors, swing on the front porch, remodeled kitchen (2013), fenced backyard and large mature trees.

Great little house! Perfect for our stay!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this Old Town Bungalow. Everything was clean and modern. The kitchen was very well-stocked for our needs. The house is close to a grocery store, drug store and gas station, as well as just a quick drive to all the fun restaurants and shops in Old Town. Owner was easy to work with, and check-in was a breeze. Highly recommend this house!

Graduation Weekend in Fort Collins

  • 5 of 5

Cheryl's place is perfect for a family planning a graduation weekend or a visit to Fort Collins any time. The location is close to Colorado State and downtown Fort Collins. We could walk from the Oval to our home away from home in 10-15 minutes depending on how fast you walk.

We cooked breakfast and all of the utensils and spices were in the home. We felt part of the Fort Collins neighborhood. The best part is all of the beds were super comfortable so a good night's sleep was had by all. We would rebook this lovely home.

Cheryl has a clean and lovely home for a getaway!

Charming and convenient

  • 5 of 5

The Smith Street House was just what we needed for or stay in Fort Collins. The location is convenient and safe, walkable to CSU, shopping center, and great for neighborhood walks. The house was clean and well-equipped and the owners responsive.

Highly recommend Equinox Brewing in Old Town for great beer and friendly people!

A home away from home

  • 4 of 5

This is a lovely home, with a very nice fenced in back yard. The neighborhood is quiet and within walking distance of Old Town. It is a perfect place to relax after a long day exploring northern Colorado.

Cute home in a quiet part of town!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this home in Old Town of Fort Collins. We were close to everything! The neighborhood was extremely quiet. On our first evening at the house, we had a family of raccoons greet us from the tree in the front yard. The house itself was comfortable and relaxing. Beds were comfortable and clean! The bathrooms were very clean. Nice, well stocked kitchen with new appliances. Furniture in the house were clean and comfortable. My sister, brother-in-law and I spent much of our time in the living room. Each morning, my brother-in-law relaxed sitting in the back yard. My son and I stayed in the basement bedroom. Very comfy bed! Plenty of closet space too. The family room that was also in the basement was another spot we hung out late at night. My son and I watched a couple of the DVD movies that were in the library.

The location of this home was perfect. We were close to the university and Old Town. Probably a 5-8 minute drive to Old Town from this house. Actually, it was a short drive to get anywhere in Fort Collins from this house.

I will stay at this house again when I come back to Fort Collins. Much better to rent instead of staying at a hotel as hotel costs are high. The owner was great and made sure we were comfortable staying at their house.

I suppose the only disappointment was that we did not meet the ghost! One of the previous renters wrote in the log book that they met a ghost that lived in the house. If that had happened to us, that would have been the icing on the cake.

Thank you, Cheryl for renting your house to us! We enjoyed our stay and will recommend your property to all my friends and relatives!
