Wonderfully Peaceful

  • 4 of 5

This is a wonderful place to stay and have peace and quiet. The house has some age but has been maintained. It has a wooded view which gives you seclusion. My only real complaint is I wish it had a larger deck with a hot tub. That would help with the aches and pains after hiking at Stone Mountain, which is just right up the road. The owner, Mark, was very responsive to all contacts. We hope to return soon.

Truly a secluded paradise

  • 5 of 5

These two cabins are set in a lovely wooded area. The cabins themselves are very comfortable...kitchen is perfect for either quick snacks or full meals....Cosy bedrooms...beautiful fireplace...with plenty of dry firewood. .My favorite spot was the back porch. It opens out onto gorgeous woodland views...It’s really not far away from a decent town with grocery stores, restaurants etc. I am really looking forward to more trips. I think winter and autumn would be especially fantastic here. Mark was easy to reach and replied within a very short time when contacted. I would wholeheartedly recommend checking out these cabins. Rent both for a family get together!!!!!

Convenient to stone Mountain and secluded.

  • 4 of 5

Had a great time in Traphill. Cabin was very convenient to Stone Mountain and right down the road from a quaint little country general store. Cabins come with either a wood burning stove or a stone fireplace. And lots of cut firewood for your use. We definitely stayed warm during our stay. Owner is very helpful and friendly.

Terrible Experience

  • 1 of 5

This was the worst experience I have ever had on VRBO. We stayed one night, in February, the heat was not able to be turned on/did not work, and the sheets were unclean with “a substance” all over them. The blankets were stained and seemed unclean as well. Without heat and blankets, we spent a very cold night.

However, I was more disappointed with the owners reaction when we finally go a hold of him (the next day). He tried to pass the blame onto us for not turning on the breaker (which we tried, and the heat still would not turn on!) and for not starting a fire in the antique wood stove (which would have meant chopping wood at 11:30 at night).

Finally, after we had agreed on a reasonable refund (less than half what we had paid for the night), we got a check back for half of our agreed upon amount!

The cabin itself is not bad, and the surrounding area is beautiful, but the annoyance of dealing with these issues completely overshadowed the positives.
