About the property

Very Secluded property with twenty three acres and a one mile walking trail.

At Stone Mountain Cabin Rentals, there are two 925 sq. ft. authentic log cabins nestled in the woods against the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. A one mile walking trail meanders through 23 acres of majestic beauty. A 135 ft. bridge adjoins both cabins, while they are still secluded from one another. Stone Mountain State Park is only 2 miles away from the cabins. Deer, wild turkey, and other wildlife may be seen at any time on the property and surrounding area. Blue Ridge Parkway is ten minutes away. All seasons are beautiful here. Close enough to ski resorts, horseback riding, rafting on the New River, fall festivals are plentiful, approximate eight wineries in the area, plus much more attractions

Terrible Experience

  • 1 of 5

This was the worst experience I have ever had on VRBO. We stayed one night, in February, the heat was not able to be turned on/did not work, and the sheets were unclean with “a substance” all over them. The blankets were stained and seemed unclean as well. Without heat and blankets, we spent a very cold night.

However, I was more disappointed with the owners reaction when we finally go a hold of him (the next day). He tried to pass the blame onto us for not turning on the breaker (which we tried, and the heat still would not turn on!) and for not starting a fire in the antique wood stove (which would have meant chopping wood at 11:30 at night).

Finally, after we had agreed on a reasonable refund (less than half what we had paid for the night), we got a check back for half of our agreed upon amount!

The cabin itself is not bad, and the surrounding area is beautiful, but the annoyance of dealing with these issues completely overshadowed the positives.

Perfect place for a break from a fast paced world!

We had a great time staying at this cabin. It is quiet and secluded but with everything you need to feel at home. There will be future stays. Mark was wonderful to work with. Many thanks for this wonderful place and the opportunity to stay.

A Wonderful Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here with two of our grandchildren, for whom we were babysitting. Owner Mark greeted us there and brought over some firewood. He was friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed climbing up Stone Mountain one of the days. The kids enjoyed discovering the swings in the woods. The cabin was cozy, rustic and well-equipped - just what we would expect in this beautiful woodsy setting! One thing to note if you bring young children is that this is an open floor plan, so don't expect to watch TV or entertain lively discussions once the little ones are tucked in the upstairs bedroom bc they will hear everything! Next time we will use the upstairs bedroom and tuck the kids in downstairs with a door to close.
