The Lodge at Woods Hill is a spectacular 3200 sq. foot log cabin overlooking a swimming pond in the peaceful hills of western New Hampshire. It was once the mountain getaway for the famous 1950s singer, Patti Page, who was known for 'Tennessee Waltz.' The Lodge is part of a fully operational 265 acre farm that boasts pastured cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens, a 19th century barn, and farmers who live just around the corner in the Farm House.
The log cabin is completely private and has a large master bedroom with a king-sized bed and a shower in the adjoining bathroom. There is also a full bathroom on the 1st floor. There is a loft with a queen-sized bed and sitting room. There are also 3 sofa beds for additional guests. The amazing library stocked with old favorites and unique reads is an unexpected surprise. There is nothing like curling up on the enormous leather sectional and reading a good book in front of the giant fireplace.
The dining room table is old charm spectacular and seats from 2 to 24. The lodge also has a fully outfitted kitchen with a 6-burner Viking Stove with plenty of room for side-by-side chefs. There are 2 dishwashers, a full bar and a separate ice-maker. Family and friends will love playing games, doing puzzles, relaxing on the huge screened in porch or playing Bumper Pool and cards.
Outside there is a fire pit, regulation horseshoes, and a pergola overlooking the pond. The property is surrounded by miles of hiking/skiing/ snowshoeing trails, so bring your boots, skis, and snowshoes. It is 28 miles to Loon Mountain and Cannon Mountain Ski Resorts, 39 miles to Mt. Washington, and 15 miles to the Appalachian Trail. This is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway, a ski weekend with friends, a family vacation away from it all, or an executive retreat. Great in fall, winter, or summer. The views of Mt. Moosilauke are breathtaking.
