Absolute Serenity

  • 5 of 5

Clean quiet peaceful. If you are looking for a great place to get away from it all this is the place to come. It is great for either those who want to relax and enjoy the beauty of God's creation or for families with children who want to run and fish and feed deer. You never need to leave because it has everything but if you do it doesn't take long to get anywhere. For any hunters this is the place. The owner keeps food and minerals for the deer and there are three stands to hunt from and the deer is plentiful. We saw quite a few of them. So all in all this place has everything

Great family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this place. We were greeted by 2 deer when we arrived. After unpacking, we went to the pond with our 3 kids, ages 12,10 and 6 to fish. After my 6 year old caught her first fish ever (and of many), we went on one of the many hiking trails. The owner Jim had just stocked the pond with 200 trout and we had a blast catching and releasing them along with a couple of bass. It was incredible to "unplug" the kids from their electronics and connect with nature. We then fed the small coy/goldfish in the small pond right by the house. The cabin was perfect, very clean and had plenty of room. The kids all loved the bunk beds. There was plenty of firewood and we cooked on it almost every night. We would definitely recommend and wished would lived there!!!

HUSBANDS 60TH BIRTHDAY WEEKEND

  • 5 of 5

THE CABIN AND THE SURROUNDINGS WERE AMAZING...THE CABIN WAS CLEAN AND HAD EVERYTHING YOU COULD NEED EXCEPT FOR FOOD, CLOTHES AND TOILETRIES (AND SOME OF THOSE ARE ALSO THERE). IT FELT LIKE HOME THE MINUTE WE ARRIVED. GOOGLE DIDNT GIVE US VERY GOOD DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM ELKINS BUT WE ARE PRETTY FAMILIAR TO THE AREA....WE DID STOP AT A LOCAL NEIGHBOR...SONNY...AND HE GUIDED US TO THE CABIN AND GAVE US SOME GREAT INFO ON RIDING OUR UTV ON THE BACKROADS ...WE MADE IT TO BEMIS, KELLY MOUNTAIN, HELVETIA AND BERGOO. SINCE WE ARE ONLY A FEW MILES FROM ELKINS WE WENT TO CJ MAGGIES AND BIG TIMBER BREWERY AND HAD A FABULOUS DINNER. WE HAVE STAYED IN MANY WV CABINS AND THIS ONE IS NOW AT THE TOP OF OUR LIST..HOPING TO RETURN SOON AND PERHAPS BRING OUR GRANDCHILDREN...THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS AMAZING PLACE.

A GREAT FAMILY GET AWAY

  • 5 of 5

My family just finished our wonderful vacation at the Tanner Farm. We did not know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. It was even better than we imagined. 200 acres of privacy, Praise the Lord!!! We caught fish, hiked the trails, had a camping fire, and enjoyed our time. Thank you, thank you and thank you!!!!!!!

Private Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 plus springer spaniel dog just stayed here for 4 nights. It was not nearly enough! Sits So far back off the road that at the cabin there was no road noise!! So hard to find that. We let our dog run free without worry as your surrounded by pretty steep hillside and a creek which runs alongside the massive yard. The first 2 days it was pretty dry, but then it rained a lot and we got the lovely babbling creek sounds! The pond was a blast we caught a bunch of largemouth bass and puttered around in the canoe. The fishing was great! We hiked some of the trails and it was a gift not to encounter any people. Pretty sure this would be one of the best places to come hunting as the whole property seems perfect for that. As far as the cabin goes it's the most well stocked cabin of any I have ever stayed in. In fact I brought too much. Pretty special place which I can't recommend enough. We'll be back!
