Rowhome on historic street in Fells Point, 3 blocks from water

Bedrooms 1
Property type townhome
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Plan your getaway to the Hill House in our 1 bedroom/1 bathroom, loft with skylights and a beautiful and serene courtyard in a 3 story home on a historical street. Just 3 blocks from the water, our home has some original hardwood floors from the 1800's, a spiral staircase, stained glass windows and a serene courtyard to relax. This home also includes central AC and heat, free wireless internet, cable, gas stove and dishwasher. The bedroom is located on the second floor and includes a full size antique bed and antique furnishings. Hill House is an excellent location in Fells Point which is off the main street, 3 blocks from the water, near a free city bus (Charm City Circulator) stop, water taxi stop and less than 4 blocks to Inner Harbor East, Little Italy, Whole Foods, gas station, movie theater, parking garage, shops, and restaurants. The Hill House is a great place to get away and create some memories with your loved ones. (Please note only adults should use the spiral staircase and although the loft area can accommodate two more adults on a futon, we do not recommend this area for sleeping arrangements in the summer as it is on the 3rd floor and can be warmer than the rest of the home. We do have central air, ceiling fan, and a portable fan for the loft.)

About The Owner

My name is Rebecca and I am recently married, so I moved from this home to live with my husband in the DC metro area. We dated for five years and really love the Baltimore area and this house, so although we love to come here on the weekends, we want to provide others with the same opportunity to create memories.

The Owner purchased this townhome in 2000

Why The Owner chose Fells Point

Hill House is centrally located and walking distance to many neighborhoods including Little Italy and Inner Harbor East. It is also walking distance to downtown, the Inner Harbor, and the conference center.

What makes this townhome unique

I love the original hard wood floors on the first floor, the stained glass window in the bathroom, and the history of this home. Hill House is located directly across from Douglass Place, historic row homes once owned by Frederick Douglass. You may look out your window and see a Douglass walking tour go by our street, explore the eclectic shops and restaurants of Fells Point, or relax in the backyard.

Clean, great location

  • 4 of 5

The row house was exactly what we needed. Located between Fell's Point and the Inner Harbor, easy walking to the water views. The biggest drawback to the property is having to navigate the spiral staircase quite often.

The HVAC system worked like a champ! We had a day where we had to run the a/c & heat on the same day, so we really appreciated it. There are lots of restaurants and bars (& whole foods) nearby. Baltimore often gets a bad rap, but I didn't find it any sketchier than most other downtowns. It's a city; use your brain and mind your surroundings.

I would definitely recommend staying here and will likely stay again in the future.

Great rental

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I spent 4 days in Baltimore for our anniversary. The property is in a great location and close to everything. We really enjoy walking so we parked the car and walked to all of the ports and throughout town. Rebecca was super easy to deal with and the check in/check out was very easy. We would definitely like to return at some point.

Beautiful Historic Property

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time staying at Hill House! Keyless entry was a breeze. While there wasn't parking directly in front of the home, a parking deck (2 blocks) and adjacent streets provided ample space. (Not having parking in front of the house seemed to make the home environment a bit more quiet than you might expect for being in downtown Baltimore... a plus!) A grocery store, drug store and multiple restaurants as well as the Inner Harbor were all within walking distance. (The homeowner provided an excellent guide that highlights some recommended spots.) Additionally, the popular neighborhoods of Fell's Point and Little Italy were just to the east and west respectively and easy to access on foot. The home itself was beautiful... wood floors and masonry throughout. Water pressure in the shower was excellent! Bed linens were provided as well as for the bathroom which were plentiful. The spiral staircase may give pause for young children or those with mobility problems but this feature adds charm to the property. The wifi worked well also.

I would definitely stay again at Hill House when in Baltimore.

Great location and great home

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I visited Baltimore for the weekend and had a great stay at the Hill House. We were able to stroll scenically to the Inner Harbor and Camden Yards. We spent an unforgettable day exploring Fell's Point, and had a drink poolside at the Pendry Hotel (an awesome place to check out). It was centrally located to so much, clean and comfortable, and spacious. We loved the decor as well as the layout of the apartment. Rebecca was easy to work with. Highly recommended!

Great stay, perfect location for us

  • 5 of 5

Our second time here, and we hope to be back soon. Great access to walkable waterfront, restaurants, groceries, shops. Really nice, small, comfortable home with everything we needed. Owner is very responsive and accessible for any questions, and was super-helpful to us when we needed to ask for some flexibility on our departure date. It will be our first choice each time we return to Baltimore.
