About the property

5 Bedrooms, 4.5 Bathrooms, Sleeps 14

If you enjoy the style of coastal Florida and Carolina homes, you will find Carriage Cove your perfect alternative to the long drive to the ocean. Situated on a quiet waterfront location, Carriage Cove is bright, open and inviting. Porches extend around the full perimeter of the home providing ample space for enjoying the outdoors while reading a book or sipping your favorite beverage. As you walk in the front door, you pass through the modern kitchen which leads into a dining and living room area open to the second story. The main level also includes a half bath, laundry area and master suite that can be closed off from the main living area. After a long day of boating and swimming in the sun, enjoy a long shower in the master bathroom. You won't believe the relaxation that the double shower heads, rainfall shower and double jets provide! Sliding glass doors allow for a view of the lake as you drift off to sleep. The kitchen is fully equipped with an extra large side by side refrigerator, flat top stove, oven, microwave and dishwasher. All appliances are less than four years old. Cooking is a dream and seating is no issue with table seating in the dining room for six, counter seating for four and patio seating for six. Our family enjoys cooking breakfast on the side porch table using the provided electric griddle.

Upstairs you will find two bedrooms, both with balconies that look down onto the living room. One bedroom is setup to accommodate six children, and the other contains a king-sized bed. Both have their own private full baths.

Our teenagers enjoy taking control of the downstairs. There you will find another living room area, two bedrooms (both with queen-sized beds) and a full bath. In addition, the downstairs living room provides access to a rubber floored garage bay that contains a ping pong table. Downstairs, sliding glass doors lead to the concrete patio from either the living room area or one of the two bedrooms. We've equipped the patio with two extra long picnic tables and a charcoal grill. The patio is large, with plenty of room for socializing and enjoying a game of corn hole.

Outdoors, there is parking in the semi circle driveway in the front of the home, and a shared driveway leads to additional parking next to the concrete patio out back.

The gently rolling yard leads to the dock with two covered slips. The dock is a beautiful spot to enjoy the late evening, clean the day's catch or jump in for a quick cool-off in the lake. And at the end of the day, it's a simple walk back to the house with your coolers and catch--no steps, no hills.

We are certain you will enjoy our home as much as we do. It's amazing how relaxed a simple weekend at the house makes me feel, and I'm sure it will do the same for you and your friends or family!

About Joe and Marcy

Our family lives near Evansville, IN. For years, we boated on the Ohio River and now that our children are older, we have decided to purchase a home on Lake Barkley and enjoy lake life. We have been married for 24 years and have four children, ages 19, 16 and twin 14 year old daughters.

Joe and Marcy purchased this house in 2014

Why Joe and Marcy chose Lake Barkley

We chose this property because it felt so 'beachy' inside and out. While we would love to someday own an oceanfront property, this house had the coastal style, waterfront location but much closer to home.

What makes this house unique

The area around Barkley and Kentucky Lakes is an antique enthusiast's dream. There are also many quaint restaurants and gift shops; many right in Cadiz. Numerous festivals occur throughout spring, summer and fall. The people in the area have made us feel very at home and we are sure they will make you feel the same.

Great Family Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

This is the 3rd year we have used this house for a nice family vacation with our 4 adult children and their families. It works fantastic and is well equipped. We enjoyed using the kayaks and the boat dock is easily accessible for the boat we rent from the close marina. Thanks for another great stay!

Perfect lake home for families

  • 5 of 5

Words cannot explain the wonderful memories our family has made in this beautiful lake home the past 2 years. We love the location. We just unpack, throw on our bathing suits & spend time having loads of fun on the water! This home is absolutely perfect for our family of 14!

The home was perfect for our family. It matched the descriptions, and I loved the lake decor!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. The lake was perfect and we enjoyed swimming, kayaking, fishing. The water at the end of the pier was better than we expected. We did bring tubes along which allowed us to just float around. We even paddled over to the beach across the way and the kids could build in the sand.

The house had two charcoal grills we used and the kitchen was nicely equipped.

We walked down to the little ice cream shop and stopped many times at the little gas station/store.

Overall, it was exactly what we needed. Relaxation and tons of quality family time!

Thank you for sharing your home with us!!

The home was warm and our family felt welcomed

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a great vacation at lake Barkley. The home was beautiful and had all the amenities we would need. The grandchildren enjoyed the paddle boat and kayak, they would

use them to watch the sunsets. Joe and Marcy were lovely to work with.

We hope to return with our family.

Owner's Response: Larry, Glad the grandkids had a good time on the water! And, that your family felt 'at home' at the lake house. That is our greatest compliment...to know that people feel comfortable there! Please do come back and stay sometime. :-) Marcy

Retreat Paradise

  • 5 of 5

We celebrated our third family fishing retreat at this lovely home. We love everything about it from the roomy, airy decor to the fishing at the dock located down the hill from the back of the house to the gorgeous wrap around deck. We will definitely come back again next year!

Fantastic in every way!!

  • 5 of 5

First I'd like to thank Joe and Marcy for allowing us the opportunity to spend a long weekend in their beautifully appointed home! Your place was a dream in every way! It was centrally located to the marina to put our fishing boat in, and then had a fantastic covered dock , that was so nice to walk out the back (no stairs down to the lake), and get right in our boat! My parents are elderly and appreciated this amenity very much! It is a very private home, with plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing, or come together for group activities. From hardwood floors, to vessel sinks in the many bathrooms, granite counter tops, to high end appliances, I could go on and on.... I could not find anything to be disappointed in. Even the evening we had a thunder storm, the lightning was just beautiful reflecting on the lake! We took a really pretty drive over to the state park and had breakfast at Windows on the water, an architectural feat alone, with a not to be missed view of the lake! A little south we checked out the new bridge construction, and land between the lakes! We really love the Barkley and Kentucky lakes area, not to mention the reason we came, the fishing was really good too! Thanks again for a really great trip!

Owner's Response: It sounds like you guys had a wonderful stay! I'm very glad! And, I learned a new tip from you all--we have not eaten at Windows on the Water. We will have to check that out. I hope you all can come and visit again...we love repeat guests as it tells us we are doing something right! :-)
