10 minutes drive from downtown Washington, this three bedroom, two bath home has what you need for a great stay in the nation's capital. Located on a quarter acre lot, it has a large vegetable garden in back (help yourself) and a grassy yard in the front. It is steps away from a municipal park with playground, stream, and basketball court. It is also close to I66 and a major bike trail leading to the Potomac river and beyond. The house has a master suite with ensuite bath upstairs and two smaller bedrooms sharing a second bathroom downstairs. It has a fully equipped galley kitchen, a dining area and a living room. We rent it out for the summer while we leave town, but our cats are cared for in the basement, which is an unfinished space with a third bathroom and a washer and drier. The neighborhood is known as the 'garden spot of Arlington' and is a safe, friendly, walkable, residential neighborhood. The Ballston metro is a 14 minute walk away, as are numerous stores and restaurants. When traffic is flowing smoothly, the Washington Mall is a quick 10 minute drive away. The house is a cottage style bungalow, small in porportions but with everything you need. The master suite upstairs is a lovely wood paneled room.
Me, my husband, and my son go to China for four months each spring. We run an semester program there. I am looking for someone to use the house while we are away. In the summer, we stay at our country house one hour outside of Washington DC so can be flexible about when we get our house back.

It is a charming house on a quiet neighborhood street and yet close to everything. The house is small and efficient and has a great feel.
