Quiet, comfortable, historical farmhouse

  • 5 of 5

Ken was great and took good care of us. The house has great history and was very comfortable for the 7 of us. It was close enough to Gettysburg to visit the battlefields yet off the beaten path enough to be quiet and relaxing. Ken gave us great suggestions on where we could find everything we may have needed.

Great home nestled in the beautiful countryside

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed here for our visit to Gettysburg. This home was as described...spacious, tranquil, rural and we loved it! Ken was great to work with and very welcoming. The kitchen was completely stocked with all the pots/pans/equipment needed for us to cook our meals in. Plus, there were many basic condiments and seasonings, etc for guests to use. After the busyness of our days in town it was nice to retreat to quite rural area to relax. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The beds and furniture were comfortable and everything was very clean. It really was just what we were looking for and it was perfect....i highly recommend!

Owner's Response: Many visitors have enjoyed a "retreat" back to the serenity of the farm after a day trip to the battlefield. The farm`s great Central Pennsylvania location plus close-by access to major highways makes it easy to take day trips in any direction, North to Carlisle. South, crossing the famous Mason/Dixon line to Baltimore or D.C., Annnapolis or Harpers Ferry, East to Hershey or York, and west to Chambersburg. Whichever direction you chose, there are historic, educational, fun, interesting places to visit for the day. Then retreat back to a comfortable bed at your home away from home!

Good Time

  • 4 of 5

Ken was a most gracious and attentive host, and yet gave us our privacy! Everything we needed except some food items that we found at the well stocked grocery store in Biglersville, just as Ken said. Beautiful setting, great bird watching right from the table and got to see fireworks at Gettysburg College from the upper field above the house. Already mentioned to Ken, I was a little disappointed in the condition of the table games, other than that no complaints. Thanks Ken

Good blend of old and new here and owner very responsive with any questions. Conveniently located only about 20 minutes from the attractions in Gettysburg. Also took a day trip to Hershey PA which is only about an hour away. Highly recommended
