My husband and I live half of the year in America and the other half of the year travelling around the world. We are retired and enjoy our four children and six grandchildren when we are home in America.

Why Carmen Bigas (phone) and Greta Palme (email) chose Rupià

We bought this property because we just were enchanted by it. We fell in love with its romantic coziness and with its spaciousness.

What makes this chateau / country house unique

The property is amazing, the location Rupiá is a small village with around only 30 homes, most of them wealthy old farmhouses now rebuilt by wealthy people with a few local farmers for enjoying life.

A terrific house

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful property, and was key to making our family reunion a great success. Everyone was enamoured with the historic house, and it provided an ideal base for a great 10 days together. The house has tons of room so people have enough space not to get into each other's hair: it has a terrific kitchen/dining area that servrd as our main gathering space, and is very well appointed with anything one might need. Rupia sits in the middle of a wonderful area for easy going tourism between the beach towns of the best part of the Costa Brava and the historic

villages of Baix Emporda, and is a very pretty village itself. One should also mention Carmen Bigas, the excellent manager, who was always most helpful. Highly recommended!

Best vacation ever!

  • 5 of 5

This has been a dream vacation, starting from this historical building, my family, friends and I really felt like living in a past time with the best commodities. The house is very well equipped and it has plenty ves rooms for many preople and huge spaces to spend time together indoors and outdoors. The decoration is beautiful, and the beds and livingrooms so comfortable.

I specially loved the location of the property so close to many traditional towns to spend the day. We learned so much about Spanish culture, tried many typical dishes of that zone, and tasted flavors we never imagined.

My family and friends are really looking forward to spending next summer in Rupia again!

We rented this magnificent property with four other couples and had one of the best vacations we have ever had!! It is a big property, lots of space, very quiet and super charming. The house is very comfortable and beautiful in every way and detail. The rooms are spacious, the beds are wonderful… The house is very well furnished.

We got exceptional restaurant recommendations from the owners as well as travelling tips, and the property manager was very nice and helpful in planning our days.

There is so much to do and see in the region I wish we had been there at least 3 weeks. Will have to come back with our children to this magical place very soon. We highly recommend this place to other families or groups of friends.
