About Yvonne Riner

The owners are a family of 5 from Atlanta, GA that loves to slip away from the busyness of the city to the tranquility and beauty of the Coast. We do this as a family to enjoy the abundance of outside activities and also as a couple simply for 'us' time and to enjoy the romantic side of the island. Jimmy & Carla

Why Yvonne Riner chose Coastal

We love nature, horses and the simple things in life. We fell in love with this quaint Cottage and named it 'The Sweet Spot' because that's exactly what it is. Its steps and minutes away to coastal treasures and the beauty of Cumberland Island where horses run free!

We enjoyed our stay emensally, even though we had a plumping problem the first day, which were resolved with 1 phone call to Tiffany. It was smooth sailing after that. We also greatly enjoyed the hot tub it was a great option at the end of the day to have very relaxing and made sleeping much more relaxing. The cottage was small but nice conviently payed out, we had no problem finding everything we needed as we did utilize the kitchen as we like to cook. We. Saw much of the area from comber land island and many other places of interest within 50-60 miles the people are great in Ga. Great rest errands check out Langs seafood marvelous hope

To get back there again.

My husband and I spent a wonderful week in st. Marys and the Sweet Spot was our home away from home. Very clean and welcoming cottage, right across the street from the Cumberland Ferry, nice restaurants and stores in the historic part of this charming and peaceful old town. We loved riding the bikes in the evenings too. Thank you so much for your hospitality and easy communication! We can't wait to be back.

We had a wonderful weekend at this house. The house is adorable and comfortable and charming. It is so close to the river park and ferry. The town is so cute and I recommend this space for anyone who is looking for a weekend away.

Dog Friendly

This cute 2 bedroom bungalow is convenient to the Cumberland Island ferry and downtown St. Marys. The property is well maintained although the outdoor Spa was not functional on both of my stays in 2016. I lifted the cover to see some frogs inside it. The master bed was very comfortable, I did not try the bunk bed in the other bedroom. The best restaurant in the area is the Riverside Cafe. I also tried Lang's and Seagles, both were mediocre at best. Check in time is very late at 4pm, All of the other place's(6) that I have previously rented had a 3pm check in time. This can be a problem since travel is an inexact science. Both the house cleaner(who is not the most friendly person) and the property manager need to be sensitive to the fact that people might be traveling long distances! Charging $100 cleaning fee is excessive for an hour's worth of work. None of the other properties charged any cleaning fee.

Owner's Response: Thank you for sharing your experience at the Sweet Spot – we love repeat guests and hope to welcome back many more times! I’ve already noted your preference for an early arrival and will make every effort to accommodate this again. Please know that the likelihood of delivering on this increases if we or anyone know in advance. When you arrived before 1:00pm, I was actually proud of our housekeeping manager to have everything clean and allow you to check-in by 3:00pm. We are simply unable to allow our guests in the cottage before it is clean. I’m sure this is why our housekeeper may have seemed unfriendly; she was uncomfortable cleaning with you there-even waiting on the outside porch with your sweet dog. It’s my responsibility to communicate this-I’m so glad it worked out. I know it seems like cleaning would only take a few hours, but because we are pet friendly (and we do love pets) we sanitize all linens and take extra care to make sure there are ‘0’ pet signs for our next guests. The cleaning also covers linens and restocking. Our cleaning costs is very comparable to the rentals in the area. The few that don’t include a separate cleaning charge, build it in their nightly rate which is significantly higher than ours. We keep our rates low year round and offer a repeat guest discount. Regarding the hot tub, as shown on the VRBO-Homeaway website, this is offered seasonally in Fall & Winter however due to popular demand…GOOD NEWS! We have recently invested in upgrading the Hot Tub and will now be offering this through mid-April. Thanks for contributing to this decision. The summer however is too hot to keep the tub sanitized. Thanks again for your valuable input-we too love the Riverside Café.

Lovely home. Great location.

House was very cute. Very clean. Great location. Just a few minute walk to the Cumberland Island Ferry, boat docks, and park. There are some great restaurants and cute little shops located within walking distance as well. Perfect home for a family vacation. The beaches on Cumberland Island were beautiful, just be sure to pack lightly! Fenandina Beach is just a 30 minute drive as well. We had a wonderful time! Will be visiting again very soon. Thank you!
