About Cari Lutz

I am originally from Montana...lived all over the US and for 2 years in France....but have been in LA for 20 years now.

I am a part time host and photographer and full time mother. I love hosting people from all over the world...and helping direct

them during their stay if they need any help. I speak fluent French and pretty good Spanish and love traveling, gardening, and yoga!

Cari Lutz purchased this apartment in 2002

Why Cari Lutz chose Miracle Mile

We love the Mid-Wilshire Miracle mile area because it is so central to so many places in LA and has such a rich history.

The page museum offers the largest collection of Ice Age Fossils in the world...so imagine sabortooth tigers or Mastedons wandering around in the nearby park area thousands of years ago. The LACMA museum also offers free outdoor Jazz and Latin Jazz Fridays (6-8 pm) and Saturdays (5-7 pm) nights May thru October...and a great Kids Next Gen Free Art program (Sunday 12:30-3) and daily free kids painting

in the Boone gallery near main plaza ticket office. All LACMA events are super friendly and communal and you can bring your own picnic with wine or beer to the Jazz!

We like to say our place it's a 20 min drive many places: LAX airport, Santa Monica, Downtown LA...Universal CIty...The Getty Museum.

We offer a private guesthouse entrance, in front of house street parking, a beautiful garden and two outdoor shared spaces for hanging out and dining.

What makes this apartment unique

Having green gardens and birds surround us in the bustling city of Los Angeles is important for our family and for our guests.

Our guesthouse attracts people who appreciate it for what it is and the gardens that surround it and the nearby Page/LACMA museums

and gardens. Everyone always says our guesthouse is exactly as it appears in the photos and they sleep like a baby in the loft upstairs.

Please make a careful note of the steep staircase...it's not for everyone (or toddlers), but there is also a sleeping option downstairs.

love Love LOVE!!!

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed there for one month and loved every single second! Not only is the location ideal, the hosts are the best! The street is quiet, but close to plenty of action. The cottage itself is private and charming. As others have said, Cari is so willing to give tons of suggestions for restaurants, services, etc. She even stocked the refrigerator with a few items so we'd have breakfast on our first morning! Because we were there in July and L.A. was experiencing some record heat, it got a little warm upstairs during the day. But it was plenty comfortable by evening. And the loft provided the perfect amount of privacy for multiple occupants to separate from one another! : ) Highly highly recommend!!

Owner's Response: We absolutely loved having Tracey, Alex, and 16 year old twins Ellie and Gus stay with us! We don t often have month long guests, so this was a real treat. In addition to being super friendly, extremely communicative, (and helpful with our cats while we were away!), Tracey and ALex were very kind, respectful, quiet and clean so we felt VERY lucky. Ellie made us a beautiful watercolor address painting, which we SO appreciatea and truly treasure....TY again Ellie!! Would love to have this family back again and Highly Highly recommend to other hosts!:)

Great Experience!

  • 5 of 5

Cari and her family were super welcoming and their place was perfect for us. The location was ideal for all of our sightseeing needs, and the guesthouse was great. The beds were incredibly comfortable! The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed, and Cari went the extra mile by having some basic food items to get us started. If we find ourselves back in LA we will definitely plan to stay here again.

Great host, great location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time! First of all we have been welcomed as if we were family. Cari is a wonderful host, friendly and discrete at the same time. She kept providing us with tips and good places to go. The place is good, all we needed was there. The backyard is a gem. The location is very central in a nice and safe area. There is plenty of parking in the street. Grocery stores are at walkable distance, shopping as well. There is a small playground at 3 minutes distance and a bigger one at 5 minutes drive. We couldn't have picked a better place! I strongly recommend and would come back with no hesitation.

Utilitarian space with welcoming charm

  • 5 of 5

My friend Petra and I stayed at Cari's garden guest house for 4 weeks as we had just moved to LA from out of state. The house was perfect for the two of us and met every expectation. It has a well equipped kitchen and bathroom. The beds are super comfortable! It's very cozy with a lovely garden outside. The two of us were at ease around Cari and she helped us get familiar with LA. There is a Starbucks, Ralph's grocery store, and weekly food market within a 5 minutes walk. Cari is a wonderful host and I highly recommend staying here. It's a central location with easy access to different parts around the city!

Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

The location was amazing, and the guest house was perfect for my stay. Perfect place to stay if you want to explore lots of LA, you can get anywhere from central LA. The proximity to LACMA is another plus. I wouldn't look to stay anywhere else for my next trip to LA. It wouldn't get any better than this.
