About the property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 2

Aubert Den Bed & Breakfast is beautifully nestled amongst nature in the Manistee National Forest. Aubert Den offers three different guest rooms, each with their own bathroom. The B&B is situated on 17 wooded acres perfect for couples or groups looking to relax, recharge and/or explore. The property is completely surrounded by state land, allowing a forest view from every window.

Trail Riders and Snowmobilers are able to access 300 miles of groomed trails from the lodge's driveway. Guests are able to enjoy Canoeing, Kayaking and Fishing on one of the many lakes and/or rivers nearby. Luckily, we are located less than three miles away from the North Country Trail for all of your Hiking and Biking desires! Lake County also offers over 125,000 acres of public land for all your hunting needs, whether it be small game, deer or mushrooms.

The entrance of the Bed & Breakfast boasts 18 foot cathedral ceilings, a 14 ton split fieldstone fireplace and cozy leather sofas overlooking the National Forest. Woven rugs warm the hardwood floors in the living area as Onaway stone graces the entrance with a forest view from every window. The lodge has a large deck and patio overlooking the large stone fire pit, making entertaining in the woods a treat! Downstairs, the Bed & Breakfast features 3 individually appointed rooms furnished with Amish made log beds, each with their own private bathroom. Adjacent to the sleeping rooms, guests can also enjoy our lower fireplace and Jøtul wood burning stove in the lounge area decorated with unusual antiques from the 1880-1900's.

We are located about 35-45 minutes from the Lake Michigan shores of Ludington and Manistee. The city of Baldwin is 15 minutes away. The city of Cadillac is just a 45 minute drive from the Aubert Den. Traverse City is about an 1hr 15 minute drive.

Customer service is our number one priority. Each guest will be treated with the kind of attention that is reserved for family. When our guests arrive we want them to leave their troubles at the door and step into a world of luxury and rest.

Aubert Den is the ideal place to take in mother nature. The property provides a serene setting for our guests to enjoy the many splendors of the beautiful Manistee National Forest. Get away fro the hustle and bustle of the city and step into the wilderness.

Lawrence and Ashley Aubert, owners, live in the B&B with their pet Airedale Terriers year around. The Aubert’s are hands-on owners who run the Aubert Den together.

Your stay at the Lodge includes a full breakfast. All food served at the Aubert Den Lodge is organic and freshly-prepared, with no GMOs, preservatives or any kind of artificial ingredients. Most of the B&B's ingredients are sourced from local Michigan farmers, and some of them are grown on property.

Beautiful B&B nestled in the quiet wilderness

  • 5 of 5

Ashley and Lawrence were wonderful hosts at their beautiful B&B. They were very welcoming and made you feel right at home. The property has a nicely maintained private hiking path. Guests are provided their own private living room - separate from the owners main living area - offering board games and your own library. We would love to come back and stay here again.

A fabulous home with fantastic hosts that are warm and welcoming. Great breakfast too.

A well secluded property on 14 acres in the Manistee National Forest boasts a beautiful log cabin exterior with a Cedar finished interior and a floor to Cathedral Ceiling Stone Fireplace. The hosts are very kind and thoughtful of their guest throughout the day and you are greeted each morning with a nourishing delicious breakfast breakfast. You can lounge in the evening in the spacious living room, in front of the fire place, or hike the property along a mowed trail through the trees, or read a book in the lower level living room, in front of the stone fireplace. Ludington is about 25 minutes away for daytime shopping, dining or the beach. You can walk out the breakwater to the lighthouse to watch the charter boats come back in with their catches. Be sure to be in the park at 7:00 each evening to watch the SS Badger navigate the 410 foot long ship through the harbor and dock the car ferry.

Be sure to get your reservations in at PM Steamers for dinner and watch the marina through many of the surrounding windows.

If you enjoy the solitude of lodge living, then Aubert Den Lodge is a great escape that you will enjoy. There are ATV trails in abundance throughout the national forest too.

The four legged hosts!

  • 5 of 5

We needed a weekend away and happened across this listing. It looked secluded and relaxing. To say just that would not do it justice!

We loved the clean room surrounded by eclectic furnishings, the nature trail, the wonderful breakfast; most of all we enjoyed the company of Ashley and Lawrence and all of the four legged hosts as well.

We will be making a return trip here!!
