Rebecca and James Price live on the East Coast of North Carolina but would travel to the Boone area often to take family trips. They purchased their cabin in 2013 and wanted to make this little cabin a place of refuge and peace with all the beauty of the mountains surrounding it. Rebecca is a reading specialist who owns Reading Circles Reading Center in Whiteville, NC. James is employed with an electrical cooperative called Brunswick Electric in Whiteville as well. Both have a love of camping, outdoor adventure, and watersports. They have one 13 year old son named Hunter who loves the outdoors as well.

Rebecca and James bought this property as a yearly vacation destination. They both fell in love with the culture of West Jefferson. Rebecca loves all the restaurants and little shops in downtown West Jefferson. James loves to go antique shopping in the area and of course the river activities. They also love the fact that the Blue Ridge Parkway is only a few miles down the road. The river being steps away is what sold the property. In the summer around the corner of the cabin it is not unusual to see people kayaking, tubing and fishing on a regular basis. This cabin is near Zaloo's Canoe's which makes it a hot spot for all kinds of water recreation.
The back porch is the most peaceful place when the sun goes down and all is quiet. The property also has a front porch swing and woods surround the cabin in the front and back. Taking a ride down to the New River State Park for hiking and/or a picnic is less than 5 minutes away from the cabin. There is just too much to do in the High Country. That is why this cabin continues to unlock a new adventure each time someone visits.
I rented this cabin for my daughter and her new husband for their honeymoon. They absolutely loved it. They loved the quaintness of the design. Most of all though, the peace and tranquillity were just what they wanted and needed.
I could not have asked for a better place to spend a quiet weekend! Close to anything needed !!! Cabin was absolutely adorable !!!! Owners were great to work with !!! There is so much love put into this lil cabin!!!!! Porch was the best spot to have your coffee in the morning and star gaze at night !!!! This was exactly what was needed !!! Thank you for sharing your home !!!! Your decorating made this cabin so comfortable and homey!!!!!
Will be back !!!!!!
very good, enjoyed, lock box is a little difficult to operate.
The cabin was just as described. I took pictures of every detail. It was so cute inside and out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the surroundings. We enjoyed the outdoors hiking and tubing. It's a short drive to great shops and restaurants in West Jefferson and Boone. We can't wait to go back!!!
This cabin is very sweet and comfortable. We loved spending time on the porch stargazing and relaxing among beautiful forest surroundings. It's a quick drive to West Jefferson for shopping, and very close to Zaloo's Canoe's. (We did a relaxing Sunday morning kayak trip.) We would definitely stay here again!
After 'getting rid' of the kids for a couple of weeks, we thought we would explore a part of North Carolina we infrequently get to. We could not have asked for better than this place. Quaint little cabin, beautiful backyard and lots to see and do nearby. Our favorite part was probably tubing the New River, which was steps from the front door. After doing a little research, I drove the car down to the New River State Park access point down Wagon Access Road, jogged the 2.5 miles back to the cabin and floated down to the car. It cost us nothing.
In West Jefferson, we loved the Honey Hole and Rosebud Cafe. Boondocks Brewery had great beer, but the food was OK and a pit pricey. Lots of neat biking and jogging opportunities around. Combined with the beautiful cabin and relaxing time, we could not have asked for a better time.
Property is located minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. It backs up to Jefferson Landing Golf Course. It is walking distance to the historic New River and Zaloo's Canoes. All Mountain High Country activities are just a short drive away.
