About Mike & Sue Ross
We live just outside London. When we are not working, we love to be out walking. The Isle of Skye is our favourite place to walk. We are currently working our way though the book; 40 Coast and country Walks on the Isle of Skye. Only 8 to go! We spend as much time as we can in this beautiful part of Scotland,

Lovely week in beautiful isleornsay
Last minute booking and we completely lucked out with tides reach. Tucked away in south Skye, we couldn’t have asked for a better adventure break with our two busy boys. Plenty ofplaces to explore close by. Perfect for kayaking and mucking about in the shallows. Good pub and on a public bus route up to Portree, a fun day out. Would highly recommend, we loved it!
What an idyllic location.
We thoroughly enjoyed a week at Tides Reach.
No WiFi & limited phone reception meant that everyone could literally, completely switch off!
The reviews from the lounge are lovely and with the waterfront location we were able to paddle round the coastline exploring.
It’s location means you can easily access all that Skye has to offer but equally retreat to the quiet.
We had many walks; Sleat Penninsula, Glen Brittle, Talisker Bay, Bla Bheinn. Admittedly we had a week of glorious weather.
Easy access into Broadford (12-15 mins drive away) for provisions from the well stocked co-op, or at the recently opened cafe, post office and general store ( 5 mins drive) on the main Armadale road, means you can easily pick up fish & chips or groceries.
The kitchen is well equipped for self catering & the porch area proved very useful for all our walking and paddle boarding paraphernalia.
Tide’s Reach was so appealing to us, because it is slightly off the beaten track, it is not of a high spec, and that suits us perfectly, but is comfortable and cosy and we will definitely be rebooking to explore Skye further.
Perfect place for recharging the batteries
A delightful property with a peaceful outlook over the loch. If the weather is not good for a day out in Skye you could easily while away the time watching the tide, and the birdlife, come and go. This is a place to switch off from the outside world! Digital detox successfully completed :-)
Lovely cosy cottage with amazing views.
A perfect place to stay when exploring Skye. Not too remote but peaceful with amazing views and everything needed for an enjoyable stay.
Tides reach cottage experience
The cottage was clean & tidy. The views & wildlife from it were wonderful.
The name for the cottage on the lane could stand out a little more.
Fantastic break away from it all
Great location in a lovely cottage that has all the essentials. You won't get a phone signal but this can be a bonus!
