About the property

Across The Street form the Beach & Walk to Kailua Village!

Welcome to our beautiful Alii Cove Townhome! This Gated Community is located on Alii Drive across the street from Hon’ls Beach and a five minute walk to the Village of Kailua-Kona, where you will find numerous restaurants, shopping, entertainment and other activities. For those who seek adventure while on vacation there are endless opportunities (paddle-boarding, snorkeling, surfing, para-sailing, zip-lining), the nearest within two minutes. Also located in the resort like Alii Cove Complex are the well-maintained - Pool, Jacuzzi, Keiki (children) Pool, BBQ Facilities and Fitness Center.

This Townhome is beautiful decorated, in a way we like to call “Classy Beach Chic”. Very luxurious bedding, and fine furnishing, however still comfortable with a Hawaiian twist. There are three bedrooms and three bathroom, as well as a large open loft area that has a futon for additional sleeping accommodations. The Townhome features tile flooring on the main level, a Large Lanai off the Living Room, as well as a Large Lanai off the Master Suite.

The Kailua-Kona Coast has the most colorful and spectacular pink, lavender, and orange sunsets in Hawaii. Maybe you’ll be lucky and spot the famous 'Green Flash” at sunset, as the sun dips behind the horizon. You can watch the incredible Kona sunsets right from one of the decks or the lanai, as well as the cruise ships, para-sailing, whales and dolphins.

The Kailua-Kona Historical Village is short walk from Alii Cove. The Village is very quaint, with lots of charm and good shopping right along the water’s edge. Some of the activities you can find in the Village and nearby are: beaches, luau’s, farmer’s markets, art galleries, jewelry shops, restaurants, boating, snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, boogie boarding, and deep sea fishing…Just about every water sport you can think of! There are also several great golf courses nearby. There is so much to do to stay active, or you can do nothing and just lounge on the beach or by the pool!

Please feel free to contact us directly to find out how we can help make your Hawaiian Vacation Dreams come true!

Great Condo, location & month in Hawaii!

  • 5 of 5

This is a very well appointed condo in a well kept complex centrally located to the Kailua-Kona activities and shops.

Our family of 5-7 adults and young children had an excellent visit during the Jan/Feb "winter".

The condo is nicely furnished and had just about everything we needed to enjoy our stay on the island.

We especially enjoyed the outdoor living and dining on the extended patio with the peek-a-boo ocean view.

We did a lot of cooking and, while the kitchen is relatively small (it's a condo!), it had almost every appliance, tool and dish we needed.

The beds were comfortable, there were plenty of linens.

There's lots of beach and pool equipment in the closet - we took the beach chairs across the street to Honi's beach for sunset whenever we were "home" at 6pm.

What could be better?

Well, the internet and cable TV is old style Time-Warner so it could be a little spotty. We moved the wireless router a bit and got better coverage outside.

Don't count on the futon in the loft for adult bedding - the frame was broken and the repair didn't hold for our 120 lb. daughter.

Bedroom curtains need to be redone - the rods don't match the rings making it difficult to open and close the drapes.

There's no DVD player so no DVD library. If you want to watch them, you'll need to hook your computer to the TV (there are 2 very large screens). I suggest a Google Chromecast which you can bring or buy (at mainland prices). The smart TVs can get you Amazon, Netflix, etc. so, except when the streaming was glitchy, we used our existing accounts.

Only ONE parking spot (uncovered) for a 3 bedroom condo was a bit of a hassle. We had to park the second car outside the gate - there was always a spot near the front gate. We forgot to move it from the guest spots a night or two and it wasn't towed away so that's nice.

Never did find a mop - all the downstairs living areas are tiled so after a couple weeks the floors could have used a mopping. We used the nice little vacuum cleaner almost daily.

Introduce yourself to the manager when you arrive - he drives around in a golf cart. He's a good resource both in and outside of the complex.

The only reason we wouldn't return is that we're not retired so taking an entire month off isn't always possible for us - but we're working on figuring out when we can do it again!

The Kona region of the Big Island goes beyond Hawaii's traditional offerings. Sure, there's ample sun, surf and sandy beaches, but the Kona coast features so much more. Step back in time and explore Kona's history, taste some of the world's richest coffee and view marine animals in the clear waters of the surrounding Pacific Ocean. These activities and more a wait along the Big Island's Kona coast.

Location: Kona is one of seven regions on Hawaii's Big Island, encompassing a 60-mile stretch of the western coast. The Big Island sits at the southeastern end of Hawaii's island chain, and is 4,038 square miles, double the combined size of Hawaii's other seven islands.

History: Kailua-Kona, also called Kailua-Kona Town, is a city in the Kona region and was, at one point, home to King Kamehameha in the early 1800s. The Historic Kailua Village in Kailua-Kona pays homage to Kamehameha and other Hawaiian royalty with tours of historic sites such as Hulihee Palace and Mokuaikaua Church. Also located on the Kona coast is Kealakekua Bay, where captain James Cook first landed on the Big Island and eventually was killed, in 1779.

Historical Parks: Kealakekua Bay State Historical Park has a monument to Captain James Cook. Near Kealakekua Bay is the 180-acre Puuhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park, which was once a sacred place of refuge. The Kaloko-Honokohau National Historic Park is a 1,160-acre park just north of Kailua-Kona that is home to historic temples and ancient petroglyphs.

Beach Activities: There are many white-sand beaches and ocean activities available on the Kona coast, from snorkeling and surfing to whale watching and dinner cruises. The waters along the Kona coast are calm and clear, providing perfect visibility of green sea turtles, fish and other marine life while snorkeling and scuba diving. There are surfing schools that offer individual and group lessons, sport fishing charters, dinner cruises and boat tours that will put you up close to whales, dolphins, manta rays and green sea turtles.

Things to Do: There's plenty to do in Kona aside from beach and ocean activities. Kona's small towns have many shops and galleries. Take a tour up to the 14,000-foot summit of nearby Mauna Kea, either during the daytime, to enjoy spectacular views, or at night, to take in some stargazing. Visit Kona in October to take in the annual Ironman World Championship, a long-distance triathlon that attracts some of the world's top athletes.

Kona Coffee: Kona has many excellent restaurants that offer dishes featuring fresh seafood from the Pacific Ocean, but the real treat on this part of the island is Kona coffee. There are many coffee farms in Kona, the only place where Kona coffee beans are grown to produce 100 percent pure Kona coffee. The conditions in Kona are just right for growing these rare beans--elevation, constant cloud cover and rich, volcanic soil. Aside from taking home some of this famous beverage, visitors can tour many of the area's coffee farms, and visit the Kona Coffee Living History Farm.
