Welcome to Chincoteague Island. A quaint original Chincoteague Island home and guest cottage (The Annex) just minutes from Assateague Beach and a five minute walk to Maddox Blvd’s great restaurants and shopping. Downtown Chincoteague is a short walk or bike ride. The cottage is located on a third of an acre with fenced in backyard. Plenty of land for children to play. The house is well-appointed and tastefully decorated. Enjoy a large screened in porch and outdoor shower. Perfect for after a day at the beach or fishing. There are two bedrooms with queen size beds and one full bath in the main house. There is a couch and love seat, washer and dryer, and all conveniences of home. The Annex is a one bedroom efficiency, with a kitchen area and ½ bath just steps from the main house. A great place for extended family. There is a queen bed and couch/futon. Guest can enjoy the use of three bikes, beach chairs, coolers, etc.
My wife and I have vacationed here since we were kids. We brought our kids here too. We had an opportunity to purchase a house and went for it. We have remodeled painted and decorated much of the house. It is our home away from home and we think you will enjoy it too.
Scott Carpenter purchased this cottage in 2010
We like living on an island. This property is up to date with all the amenities. The screened porch is the best around.
We spend most of our time on the 12x24 screened in porch. Walking to nearby restaurants and shpos is easy. We use the bikes (for you too) to go to the more private beach and to go to 'Downtown' Chincoteague. Sometimes we don't use the car till we have to leave.
My husband and I and our two children. (One adult child, other is ten) came to the island for the second year in a row. Last year we stayed at a hotel. I have been eyeing this cottage for over a year. It did not disappoint. We loved it all. Very fully stocked. We ate all our meals out on the screened porch. The outdoor shower was nice to get sand off from a day at the beach. There were some neighborhood cats that come to say hello. We will def be coming back next year. But next time we will come more prepared for the mosquitoes. Thank you so much for our wonderful stay!
Cabin is clean, modern and well-decorated. Main cabin has plenty of space with two bedrooms. Annex has one bed with a futon in the same room--I was a little confused on the layout from the description. Kitchen has everything you would likely need--we ate all of our meals for a week in the rental and wanted for nothing appliance or utensil-wise. Property is spacious and we had plenty of room for two trucks and fishing gear for four.
Real winner here is the deck. Spacious with a dinner table and coffee table. Screened off and a great place to enjoy cool fall Virginia nights. I don't think we spent anytime inside unless we were sleeping!
Scott was very responsive and dealt with any issues immediately. Can't go wrong here.
The property has many endearing features that made it a charming spot for our getaway. We loved the screened in porch and the annex!
My wife and I very much enjoyed your house scott. From the outdoor shower, to the well appointed kitchen. Drinks and dinner on the scene porch were great. From linens and towels to umbrellas and chairs, all needs were met. Looking forward to next year.
Renting this cottage was like finding lost treasure. Our family was so happy here. Super cute, super clean, comfortable beds, and the little extras made all the difference. It was so helpful to have bikes, beach chairs, and umbrellas to borrow. Owners have done an outstanding job decorating the place. It's obvious they take pride in their rental. Screened porch was our favorite spot. I wish that could be my living room everyday! Slightly disappointed the Annex was so musty smelling. One child stayed out there but it was really impossible to hang out in there too long. There was plenty of room in rest of cottage, however, that it didn't impact our stay. However, if you are relying on that space, take that into consideration. And my only other disappointment was that it was only a 2 night stay...we didn't want to leave!! I truly feel if/when we return to Chincoteague I will look no further. I can imagine future happy memories here for years to come....
We had a wonderful time staying here. It is a short car ride or bike ride to the beach on Assateague or the shops on Main Street. The best part is the enclosed outdoor patio! We ate dinner nearly every night on the patio and started our mornings there as well. The house is very clean and well kept. If we ever come back to Chincoteague we would definitely stay at this house again!
