Fithri is from an island (Java, in Indonesia) and Robert has spent time living on two islands (Java and Taiwan). We hope you enjoy everything Chincoteague Island has to offer as much as we do.
Robert Shepherd purchased this bungalow in 2017
We are in a very quiet neighborhood that is child and bicycle friendly. The screen porch is large (24 feet x 12 feet) and comfortable. The island trolley (25 cents per ride) passes in front of our house. We provide all linens, and guests are welcomed to help themselves to the spices and condiments in the kitchen.
We spend most of our time on the screen porch. Walking to nearby restaurants and shops is easy (be sure to stop by the Black Narrows Brewery!). We enjoy biking around the island, including an easy twenty minute ride to the low-key biker/hiker beach on Assateague, a five minute ride to the shops and restaurants on Main Street, and a ten minute ride to the entrance on Assateague. And remember, when you enter Assateague Island by bike you do not pay an admission fee!
This was our third year vacationing in Chincoteague, and this house was our favorite so far. The house itself was very comfortable for my husband and our two young children. The kitchen was well equipped, and the addition of linens and bath towels was a bonus as we didn't have to worry about packing them.
We took advantage of the Annex where my parents stayed for a few nights. They were very comfortable and enjoyed having a space of their own.
As most other reviewers mentioned, the screened in porch was the highlight. We spent much of our time there, enjoying the fresh air without worrying about mosquitoes. When our kids needed to run off some extra energy, the back yard was perfect as it was completely fenced in.
We had such a wonderful trip to Chincoteague. The house was just perfect! Very comfortable, immaculately kept, and welcoming. The best part of the house is the huge screened porch where we ate all our meals and spent most of our time. The outdoor shower is really handy after a day at the beach. We would love to come again in future years. Thank you!
The house is clean and confortable. Bob, the owner, was great about making sure John and I had a great time. We hope to be back next year.
The Chincoteague Island Bungalow is a charming, well-maintained, very pleasant cottage!
The kitchen is very well equipped and the washer/dryer is a definite plus! While we did not use the annex for sleeping purposes, it was great to have the extra bathroom! Board games and cards a nice touch, as are the beach chairs (4) and two beach umbrellas! Greatly appreciated! Thank you!
The cottage is located within walking distance of Maddox and not too far from Main Street...we walked and biked to both!
Perhaps the best thing about this darling home, however, is the screened in porch...very large, comfortable, immediate access to the kitchen, and with a roomy outdoor shower (also helpful with 4 sandy adults!)
All in all, wonderful weather, beautiful Chincoteague, pleasant accommodations and family = best vacation!!
Where do I begin? This cottage has everything - the amenities are so nice, comfortable beds, dish washer, washer and dryer, etc. The A/C in the house makes for very pleasant days when it is hot outside. The back porch is the nicest we have Ever enjoyed. Five adults were very comfortable here. We will definitely try to rent this cottage on our next trip to Chincoteague.
Beautifully maintained property and very nice neighborhood😊
